We just got more inventory space in 4.0 and more recently the chocobo saddlebag. The fault lies with your SO, clean it out and stop hoarding stuff. Extra retainers are O P T I O N A L. This thread will have no new or interesting discussion due to OP anyway. /thread

In future just manage items as you go instead of letting it pile up. After almost every run of battle content I sell what I don't need, just takes 10 seconds. Most of the time I have a lot of space in inventory and both retainers. I do crafting too, I'm just well organised.

This - I may horde HQ items, but only those items that are crafted...not gathered..excluding fish. Granted it may be a pain to gather HQ items from time to time but with 999 stacks , its not an issue any more.

Once you have your retainers set up its easy to maintain.

Eg.
Retainer 1 - Botany, Gardening and Chocobo items
Retainer 2 - Mining/metals/minerals
Retainer 3 - weaver, leather items
Retainer 4 - Gear

etc.

My wish is that we had a 'stack all' button, you can just hit it once and anything you are carrying that your opened retainer also has, transfers (stacks) onto the retainer immediately.

Throw out everything that NPCs sell for cheap.
Also anything that can be gathered very easily and isn't used very often for crafts.
If you have 60 NQ and 3 HQ of an item, either sell the HQ or reduce it to NQ and stack it.

What FFXIV needs to stop doing is putting so many currencies as inventory items. We now have a currency page and there's no reason for it. 8 currencies pieces per new raid tier not including savages is pretty stupid.

Same with certain gears. "But Deceptus, just thrown them in the Glamour Plate" Until one of those items is needed for Fashion Files and Glamour doesn't count for it. Not to mention 200 items isn't a whole lot 5 years into a game with tons of gear thrown at you.

Because that's what it sounds like here.

The only thing in this whole mess that actually makes sense is being able to move retainer to retainer inventory management wise...sure...that's nice.

But they did give us a choco saddlebag....and 999 stacks...can't complain honestly.

Sounds like you need to do a better job managing your inventory.

That and all I need to do is mouse over to identify items if an icon doesn't make sense. (PS4 users however may not have that easy..ill admit that)

What do you think I was doing for my SO for 2 hrs?

Again it took so long because how this game presents its inventory. it takes too long to go retainer to retainer then back again.

WTB currency tab and materials bank a la GW2 style. Shoot, while we're at it, throw in their glamour skin storage as well.

This game is quite heavy on the inventory bloat. I really can't blame players for wanting to hold onto crafting mats or glamours that they've already collected - I don't think most people enjoy having to refarm things they've already had. However, with the limited storage, and lack of methods to expand it via in-game methods, we all just have to deal. Maybe by the 4th expansion they'll finally toss a free retainer our way.
