If a person Kaiva knows had said to her this, it wouldn't have been an issue and they could have improved together. FFlogs makes performance data public, and that lets random people with no tie to you, not even being in the same party at the time, do that. That being ignored isn't fair, because it's a lot more depressing to hear it from a stranger, than not. just making it about ego vs improvement ignores that. Especially when it is used as a brush to tar opinions on something else.

edit: about shame, if you can be shamed, you might as well admit "i am controlled by the crowd's opinions and they matter more than me." I said what i did because i dont mean any of this as a personal attack on Kaiva and I want to make sure that came through, since people focus on what they want to hear when I say something..

To play devil's advocate a moment. Provided people are at least semi-cordial, why can't they reject people? You are not entitled to a clear just as you aren't entitled to work at a proper company because you happen to like the location. If a group wants people will 560 All Star points, that is their subjective standard. Your options are to either inquire if they're willing to trial below said criteria or look for another group. Your stance essentially posits good players are obligated to take whoever wants to clear Savage otherwise they're being "elitists".
I don't think accepting or rejecting people based on their rank on a third party site is particularly healthy. I do worry about preemptive rejection based on low or no parses. I think if you reject in game, thats ok. You give them a try. But too much rejection based on skill isn't particularly healthy in a game culture; raiders assume that people will just take whatever criticism and fix themselves as if they were their bosses and the person had to show up every day.
