I didn't say I can no longer have fun. I said that in order to have fun just like you (who care for gear) do, I'd have to pay MUCH more than you. And that is not fair how I see it.

haha but we aren't talking about gear we are talking about aesthetics like scars, and hairstyles. What does that have to do with gear? I do not think anyone has mentioned gear at all in the equation. I specifically said nothing game breaking, and purely cosmetic. Who honestly gives a damn about town gear no matter how baddass it is if it's useless? Basically Vanafest was one big cashshop promotion. View it as you like, but you'd get items that no one else could obtain in game if you attended. How do you do that? Vanafest certainly wasn't free. You paid money (also attend, and enjoy a festival of a game you loved) to get the in game goodies.

server transfer - it's a service that can be provided for a fee regardless whether there's a cash shop or not, the two are not inherently tied together.

Server transfers are cash shop products. Call it a cash shop, call it a monetary convenience amenity that is not a necessity to your in game gaming experience. Whatever you call it you're paying real life cash for an effect in game.

ultimately it boils down to how the company wants to monetize their service

If they offered it it's not a requirement to purchase anything from it. No one will hold a gun to anyone's head and force them to buy it. The cashflow will speak for itself. If it fails it fails, but I somehow doubt it. People were eating up that cheap overpriced jewelry they were selling to get a goddamn once a day warp pendant, with coat display, in game.


I understand those who are against it and that's fine, but would those who are really be that angry to let a vanity shop hinder your gaming experience if one existed? Abortion, and gay marriage. Choices are nice even if they don't suit you.
