Looks like every other patch. Step in right direction, but no game changer. I'll have Dark Moogle mastered in a week, then I'll restore my content id right before 1.21 to check out jobs and the 2 new instances, which will also preceed to be cleared days after 1.21.

Rinse repeat til 2.0. And live a happy life.

Really odd to see people say it is an underwhelming letter ...

A small list of things I am really looking forward to:

*Assist System
*Auction House System implemented to the Market Wards
*Chocobo Shortcut
*Dye changes
*New primal battle
*Shutdown command
*Player Search System
*Revival of action queuing
*Removing the higher HQ tiers
*Abolition of slot costs

This was never meant to be a huge ass content patch.

They expect a patch to add millions of content when other MMOs not under an overhaul adds even less unique content and concepts than XIV per patch. They may add "a lot" sometimes, but 90% (aka the majority) of a content patch is copy/pasted kill quests or PvP refinements and additions, all MMOs since 2004 are guilty of this because apparently, kill quests are content. Anyone who isn't cynical or trying to find a reason to bitch will know 1.20 is a sizable patch, let alone the letter.

It's funny, I had been so focused on the class adjustments for 1.20 and jobs for 1.21, I didn't realize how much other stuff they were working on and releasing.

I'm optimistic about this patch. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of content, but really this is a patch for tweaking mechanics, so I won't complain. The game can survive 2-3 months on Moogle content until jobs come out. Let's be honest, XIV has survived worse.

For what this patch is supposed to do, it does it well. Excellent changes to mechanics in classes, party searching, item searching and more.
