since you want to be technical about it, you basically pay to beta test every other MMO then because you're ALWAYS playing changes.

I concur 100%, altough we can't deny that clearly FFXIV wasn't particularly close to what you'd define a "standard quality levels" for a MMO released in 2010, no?

Tbh FFXIV might have had issues in that field even in 2002 (aside from the awesome graphics, of course) so I guess we can easily understand people like why people like Quisi are still somehow bitter about it all.

Thing is SE said they wouldn't make us pay until the game was at release standards, can you honestly say that with 1.20 the game wouldn't at least be at release standards? I think it will be and at that point they will charge us because it wont be at beta standards.
