As an avid PvP'er it actually made the gameplay worse imo. I would prefer they revert back to the 3.x system.

I wouldn't mind if they condensed the combos to a single key/button.
lol @ dumbing down, though. As if pressing 1, 2, 3 requires any more skill than 1, 1, 1.
As for jobs like SAM, having a Kasha combo button, Gekko and Yukikaze combo buttons would bring required slots from 6 to 3.
Exactly, it's about looking forward.Well I imagine as time goes on they are going to have to continue to alter and consolidate things as the level cap goes up and more skills are added. I know I don’t see the fun in potentially having to have 5+ hot bars up on my screen and the finger gymnastics involved in swapping between all that. Then again I also don’t see a problem with having to focus more on mechanics of a fight and less on keeping tracks of a zillion buttons. I mean it’s ok how it is now, but I imagine things will have to be altered going forward.
Where will we be in 2-3 expansions?
10+ hotbars?
No thanks.
If it was optional I say go for it.
Uhm...each stance has multiple paths that was one of the things I was pointing out. So having it changed based on stance doesn't work either because you are removing certain choices.Yes, MNK is a bit tricky. But I guess you make skills change depending on your stance, as long as all stances have the same number of skills. And adjust them so that you'd always want to use Coeurl skills over the others. So, in a way, Perfect Balance would work like Meikyo Shisui.
Take these two from my other post for example:
Dragon Kick > True Strike > Snap Punch
Dragon Kick > Twin Snakes > Snap Punch
How can I tell the game I want to use Twin Snakes second instead of True Strike? Even though both require the same stance?
You'd have to have 8 buttons, one for each of those options I listed in PVE MNK, in order to allow for all possible MNK combinations. 8 buttons is actually more than just the 6 we have now lol
This is useless. 2nd and 3rd step of a combo offers nothing by themselves.
It's as stupid to keep this as it would have been to make Higanbana, Tenka Goken and Midare Setsugekka use three different slots. Or worse, Ninjutsus...
You have three skills : Bootshine, Dragon Kick, Arm of the Destroyer. When you use one of them, you go to Raptor Form and all your skills change.
Bootshine becomes True Strike
Dragon Kick becomes Twin Snakes
Arm of the Destroyer becomes One Ilm Punch
You use one of them, you switch to Coeurl form and they all change again :
True Strike becomes Demolish
Twin Snakes becomes Snap Punch
One Ilm Punch becomes Rockbreaker
etc...
It would work like how Inner Beast becomes Fell Cleave depending on what Stance you're in and you retain all paths
Like I said the only issue is that, during Perfect Balance, you could want to use a non-Coeurl skill, which would be very tricky to allow.

I think we are pretty good. I don't think they can add any more abilities anyways. It actually sucks a lot now to play 50/60 content with many jobs because we have three tiers of abilities. As DRK you really miss blackest night, for example. I expect we'll see more along the lines of merits instead.
Stop being so dramatic. Please explain to me how pressing 1, 1, 1 instead of 1, 2, 3 suddenly makes the game play itself?
I suppose if button bloat is where you like to find your 'challenge', you are of course welcome to that opinion. However, condensing combos that are rarely broken-up in the first place to a single button is not going to suddenly make the game play itself.
What if you want to use Perfect Balance which allows all of those skills to be used independent of form? What if you just want to spam Rockbreaker over and over with PB to AOE or even multiple abilities in a different order than the normal one during PB?You have three skills : Bootshine, Dragon Kick, Arm of the Destroyer. When you use one of them, you go to Raptor Form and all you skills change.
Bootshine becomes True Strike
Dragon Kick becomes Twin Snakes
Arm of the Destroyer becomes One Ilm Punch
You use one of them, you switch to Coeurl form and they all change again :
True Strike becomes Demolish
Twin Snakes becomes Snap Punch
One Ilm Punch becomes Rockbreaker
Is this a controller issue or something? I'm on PC so the amount of skills is just right.
What happens if the middle of your button combo is a miss? I see combo buttons having the same problem as trying to macro actions together, lag and misses. But if people really want it I don't see why SE can't add a progession combo feature to their macros. I think WoW had it.
