    To be fair MNK has a current PVE setup where it has multiple branches so there is choice involved (if you ignore 100% optimization anyway, like I know mathematically there is only 1 best way but most players cannot achieve this).

    PVE MNK:

    Dragon Kick > Twin Snakes > Snap Punch
    Dragon Kick > True Strike > Snap Punch
    Dragon Kick > True Strike > Demolish
    Dragon Kick > Twin Snakes > Demolish
    Boot Shine > True Strike > Demolish
    Boot Shine > Twin Snakes > Demolish
    Boot Shine > Twin Snakes > Snap Punch
    Boot Shine > True Strike > Snap Punch

    PVP MNK:
    Boot Shine > True Strike > Snap Punch
    Dragon Kick > Twin Snakes > Demolish

    Obvious difference is obvious. One of these modes has way more choices and options. Which is why making this an optional thing would likely not work since it would likely cause imbalance.

    SAM would have the same problem since it has 3 combos that branch off of Hakaze, if you notice for PVP they simply removed Hakaze. Removing abilities in order to make this system work is dumbing it down in my opinion.

    You're confusing pvp skills with pvp buttons. what OP want is to have the buttons simplified like in PvP, that's not dumbing down. Using skills <> pressing buttons. If you still call it same then you need to learn your job.

    Personally, I wouldn't mind if the combos were downsized to one button each.
    HOWEVER, to compensate for it, I think they would need to add more skills/mechanics to the effected jobs to give them more depth and to help differentiate them more.

    Yes, MNK is a bit tricky. But I guess you make skills change depending on your stance, as long as all stances have the same number of skills. And adjust them so that you'd always want to use Coeurl skills over the others. So, in a way, Perfect Balance would work like Meikyo Shisui.

    What matters is how much finishers you have, not the opener. 3 combos = 3 slots. And suddently, the opening skill could be something totally different for each combo without requiring additionnal slots.

    (Having said that, I do think MNK's Demolish and Snap Punch should be kept as separate buttons though, seeing as they rotate between them)

    No. I understand completely the point OP is trying to make. It's just that using the PvP system is a poor example given how bad it is because it excludes half a kit for each class. It's awful. Hence my response to Zumi in which you responded to.

    Well I imagine as time goes on they are going to have to continue to alter and consolidate things as the level cap goes up and more skills are added. I know I don’t see the fun in potentially having to have 5+ hot bars up on my screen and the finger gymnastics involved in swapping between all that. Then again I also don’t see a problem with having to focus more on mechanics of a fight and less on keeping tracks of a zillion buttons. I mean it’s ok how it is now, but I imagine things will have to be altered going forward.
