    *shameless bump*

This has been a major pain in the ass for me lately.

As a new player - I'm getting rather fed up with "bad ass super tank" mentality.

My game goes from "enjoyable" to "high stress have a heart attack" because of someones inability to think past his own armor codpiece. (pardon the color-isms)

Yes...I have survived (not succeeded) many "super pulls" - but this makes my dungeon experience horrible.

All in the name of.... an extra minute or two of successfully finishing a dungeon?

You don't gain anything from it....I fail to see the benefit of such a mindset.

If i get yelled at for failing - I'll just be blunt - stop pulling so much.
If they don't like it..they can kiss my white mage rear end and leave. :P

Sadly..I've started leveling a tank myself - and ill be considerate of my party over myself - tanks don't do crap without the party...always been the case. Their purpose is to soak aggro...not make kills.

Tanks dont make kills - they soak aggro so DPS can kill and healers can heal.
When your healer is doing more damage than anyone else - its either because the tank is doing a superb job or DPS is doing a bad job.
When DPS is tanking - Tank isn't doing his job.
    Healers don't tank.

There's a reason the system was designed this way - why people push it to its limits is understandable - but don't do it at the expense of others.

Like when I experience skalla for first time...and all I get are people whining about "Gated mobs" and mechanics.

You'd be surprised to see how often tanks out dps the dps. Big pulls aren't going anywhere jus something ull have to get use to

I fully acknowledge and understand this...but when you make it to the boss fight with less than 50% Mana as a white mage and you get ignored with your request to "wait leme recharge" - and barely survive the fight.....yeah....not a great game.

My point is not that I can't do it...I do pretty damn well in-spite of it.....its just a sour game....its more enjoyable when I can kick my feet up and play the game...not when I have to hammer my controller pad and bang the keyboard to save the tanks over-indulgent ass from the fire...and then get a shower after feeling like i went through a major workout.

At least as a tank i can casually "tank" - wish I could do the same as healer.

DPS - queues are too long - so yeah.

But I know...they wont go anywhere...so I make friends who are like minded enough to be forgiving and understanding.

I personally don't like super pulls myself ( the reason I won't heal) but I've learned to adapt... what really kills me tho is "super tanks" who rush into a boss when the healer has no mp or dps has no tp... at that point you're just a dumbass... check people's tp/mp BEFORE pulling the boss...

Community created this mentalty that Tanks have. In the second year of ARR, we started seeing groups demanding the tanks to keep pulling more and more and in Heavensward, this became a standard (end of Heavensward we saw that community started to demand healers to deal damage aswell), I am afraid this is a change that wont be fixed from the playerbase side.

Personaly, I pull two groups and if the healer is up to it and the DPS deal decent damage, then I do these super pulls.

What are you doing in a boss fight that with all the tools you have you barely survive a boss fight that you started at half mana? Thats sounds like major overheal.

That and it sounds like they're not making liberal use of Thin Air, Assize, Lucid, the free abilities, maybe there's also casters not taking Mana Shift in some cases. It's also possible they're leaning more on Cures and less on Regens. I don't play WHM too much, but I've never had MP issues what-so-ever, we basically have infinite mana

This was never really an issue before stormblood for some reason.
... This was always an issue. o.O In HW it was just as bad if not worse lol. That's when they started patching in walls and doors to force people to stop. XD

Its called getting a idiot tank who couldn't care less about how he pulls aggro prior to a major fight. And DPS'ers on the top of that who are not entirely smart about avoiding damage.

Don't matter how many tools you got - resources are always limited.

I still got through - but id like the game to be fun...not a chore.

Edit - And for the record - you can't always guarantee you have those tools depending on the level of the dungeon.
