Love how everything is "too difficult to implement" or "would cost a lot". At least we're not paying a monthly sub for this game.

ye this what we get in a f2........ wait a moment it not a f2p but p2p.
really how bad the team or the game engine/net code need to be that any thing most mmos now day have is to hard to implement.
how much money the #2 mmo on the market makes that any thing would cost a lot (lot more that the game makes?).

I'm curious as to which particular features you feel FFXIV doesn't have that exists in the majority of other MMOs...notably features that exist in very similar formats, rather than being similar as a concept (i.e. glamour log) but differing significantly from game to game.

more interesting dungeons, want to talk of this?
and its the developers saying it to much for them to do some things.

And you mention the one example I used as something that exists as a similar concept but has significant differences in implementation from game to game (namely that only a few actually have glamour logs, others have a handful of wardrobe slots that when you think about it aren't that functionally different from how our armoury system works, except that ours switches out gear with stats instead of just gear appearance, and still others just have you cover up specific items with one outfit/piece of gear at a time).

    Were you even trying?

I find it sad how an old game like runescape walks all over this one when it comes to item management. I mean it seems SO HARD to make a currency tab and glam logs. The collect 1 item a week so it takes 4 weeks to get one gear is getting old, or 7 in the case of weapons. It might of took wow a long time to make a glam log but that does not give an excuse for this game to take the same amount of time. WoW is much older and this game came out using wow (i'm guessing) as a base. Since that is the case, where the development gets ideas from other games, a glam log in this one should been here some time in HW. If they are going to give the excuse "our servers can't handle it" I have to question if that server move did anything for upgrading. As things stand and continue to sound, they only did that move to save money, I see no effects from server upgrades.

Also doing progression the same as HW, should be called HW 2.0, Same, need 4 items for body/legs, the same need 2 items for head, hands, feet, the same need 1 item for belt/ accessories, while having some trial give you current ilevel weapon (or something very close) to whatever is highest. Same game, just different skin.

Also why does deltascape have the same music for 3 out of the 4 runs??? that gets old fast, alexander was nice.

FF14 Used FFXI as a Base. Wow Released Late 2004, And FF11 Released Early 2002

You do know that WoW didn't get its glamour log until mid-2016, right? They haven't even had it a year.

IF we're pretending that this game is using WoW as a basis for all its ideas (which is laughable - they look to some core concepts that WoW has made popular, but also do their own thing and have since the relaunch), that would mean the devs here would have had about 9 months (GW2 has had a system in place since 2012, but the calls from players for a glam log didn't really start to get a lot of traction until WoW added their version, at which point it became a much more asked for feature) to rework the glamour system here while also finishing the other patches and the work on the expansion, along with the server move and the inventory increase. Maybe you believe developers can work miracles on their own game just because other developers have added a feature after several years, but I'm going to look at it from a more realistic point of view that also acknowledges that what games are capable of can be dependent on their own game engine and server structure and so at best the devs here have a concept they can pull inspiration from and nothing more (cause Blizz sure as hell ain't gonna share technical secrets, even if they are applicable to this game's design).

That being said, what you're seeing with the current design of glamour is likely is a result of a difference in philosophies towards gear collection for glamour - the developers are basically of the mind that it's okay to throw out all but maybe the really tough to get stuff if you're not going to be using it right away, and just to go back and acquire it later when you want it again. A good amount of one-time only stuff can already go in the armoire or be repurchased for cheap at one of the NPCs designated to sell that stuff (Calamity Salvager and the other one next to them for holiday stuff).

Following the above kind of approach, the impact of glam on inventory is definitely manageable. It only really becomes a problem when players start hoarding every single item they think they might want to glamour maybe in the future. Add in the tendency to hold on to more crafting materials than you actually need to keep around, solely for the convenience of not having to gather just what you need closer to when you need it...well that's a playstyle issue running up against current limitations, and at least part of that responsibility lies on the player.

That all being said...one of the fan translations of the live letter did note that Yoshi-P mentioned major changes coming to the glamour system and that they'd reveal more info once it was more finalized, so changes are coming.

Just not fast enough for some of you impatient folk.

As someone who has played many mmos, I'd say the answer is none. The Dev commitment in this game is outstanding and I'd love to know what other mmo had far more functionality.
