Happened to me as well. I really hope they plan on prorating or offering free time.
Another casualty joining the lists. 8T
Lost power in the middle of a sunny, clear day of all things. Rebooted my PS4 to get greeted with a five hour download - not the worst thing compared to some other users in this thread, but totally killed my play time that night.
Ended up going out and getting an UPS battery back up just to be safer than sorry, though it's annoying that I had to drop extra money to try to (not even fully?) ensure this issue doesn't continue happening.
Hopefully this actually gets addressed and doesn't turn into a game of hot potato between SE and Sony...
Yeah, the problem can (and will) happen again, even if you never have any power outage, like me.Another casualty joining the lists. 8T

All you need to do is one little Freeze (on this game or any other, don't matter), and you're screwed.
This is the first time i was in a early access, and the last. I will wait for at least a month before playing the next add-on after stormblood, i don't want to see this anymore.

System/game crashing hasn't been an issue for me at all so far (famous last words) - we get lightning storms in my area quite often this time of the year, so that's my main concern. I'm just waiting for us to lose power, the UPS to do it's job, and then still get hit with this problem. But from the sound of things, I wouldn't be surprised. 8T
I can understand how a big issue like this might have gone unnoticed until live release (I can't imagine them testing to see what happens if they cut power to a PS4 system and try to reboot the game, lol) but half a month to even acknowledge it is ridiculous. As someone who's just restarted replaying this MMO after ages, this is not a fun issue to deal with as a new player. Or any player, of course - new players just have less of a commitment to keep putting up with it. /grouchy face

Just happened to me FOR THE SECOND TIME!!!!! SE FIX THIS!!! Srly its been 2 weeks this is not a small problem u can move to the last of your priorities. Ppl live in countries where power lost is something that happens daily and no an upc is not something ur users should need to purchase in order to solve this by themselves, some ppl cant afford to pay for it.
Didn't even have a power outage, game randomly crashed earlier, tried to start it back up and this "update" was there waiting for me.
Did you read the loadstone update? It is Sony who needs to fix it and they are on it.Just happened to me FOR THE SECOND TIME!!!!! SE FIX THIS!!! Yep joined the long list of pls update the 22g update again
Not 15d in the game and it happend 3 times...tired O.o
Happened to me the 2nd time now, though technically this is the third time.
The first one was the one fixed by the PS4 patch. Before that, i had to delete the whole game and reinstall from scratch AFTER having already downloaded all the updates.
And then last week the power went out for a few seconds because of a severe thunderstorm and 'lo and behold 22.7Gb update.
Today another thunderstorm and before I could even shutdown my PS4 properly, the power went out for a few seconds and 22.7Gb download was waving at me.
When ARR launched SE had a lot of log in issues during early access especially for the poorly designed PS3 SE account selection which left a lot of players unable to play on their main account. I was one of those who was unable to play for a few days. For that they gave me (and other victims) a full refund for the game (collectors edition) and let me keep my digital copy of the game.
As they have advertised, buying this game entitles you to play the game on early access and during launch. Unfortunately we already lost a few days of gameplay on early access because of the previous bug they had and now we even lost more days because of another bug. This is already false advertisement as we only had very limited access to the game on both occasion. They already have my money for gametime but I cant play because their game launcher is broken again.
I am very much hoping for some sort of compensation for this especially as I buy my gametimes in bulk (6mos) an cancelling it would just forfeit it.
If not then maybe a class lawsuit should do just fine considering this thread already documents some of the victims of this bug.
