Third time also form me...this time also the ps4 turn off in safe mode, and the os4 told me that it turn off for policy of power saving, the ps4 made the check of the data and ffxiv start again the download. We pay olny to download patch ? Really i'm thinking to ask refound from paypal bacause you don't give me possibility to play. Maybe this is the best solution to make they resolve this issue. After they receive all the refound fron paypal maybe they start to work in good way.

You can turn off the auto shut down in energy savings settings. that was the 1st I have done when I had the stupid download bug. :U

SE. Please post this issue on Lodestone. This is too little too late for users on the forums. Sony always recommends our systems be in sleep mode to install important software updates, and not to power off the system. Please post this so you can at least help with less angry users surprised about this issue and having to find out after the fact this is a problem.

Since it has been two weeks with no Lodestone post I think maybe alerting a gaming site like Polygon, Kotaku or IGN of this thread may help? If its posted as a news item on their site may help get the word out for PS4 players to be more cautious.

Same happens to me yesterday, also mi friends at least downloaded the game again thanks to this issue, please you need to fix this or a least say something about this, there are a bunch of people with this issue and they always told me they are going to quit this game if they need to download the "22gb patch" multiple times just for play it...

Ive cancel my subscription til this is fixed ive redownloaded 3 times im not sitting here a fourth time only for it "become corrupted" again cause my ps4 suddenly turned off.
I logged out first
Closed app
Then turned off my ps4 got back on fat ass download
Yea im done
What ticks me off most is that there is no communication between SE and us

I don't want to sound super pessimistic but I feel like they didn't address this because of the server congestion they've been having since launch. Why add to your problems, right??

No that isn't an acceptable excuse. I understand it takes time for them to develop a solution. The problem was not alerting PS4 players beforehand so that a player can take a preventative measures against it if they could (like buying a battery backup surge protector) or shutting down their PS4 since Sony asks us to put it in sleep mode instead for system updates. It would have prevented a lot of headaches of getting the 22gb sticker shock after the fact, and having to search the forums. Your playerbase should know up front it's an issue if you are advising cautionary measures.
