Seems pretty crazy that people are using things like math and quoted design philosophy to draw conclusions!

This is where you all got it wrong. Every game has a tier list BUT it all depends how GOOD can you handle or make the class work. It's not about math or philosophy nonsense. If you are shit at your job NONE of these so called calculations will matter.
