My biggest problem with the AST changes is that the discard ability got called Undraw. What is that. I still call Redraw Shuffle. stop this madness

(bad omnicrafter & terrible astrologian)

Not sure if I referred to this in this thread or another, but since it's all Star/Fate based I'd go for Denial for "Undraw" and Alteration for "Redraw"
Being an AST main I gotta throw my two cents in here and say that I don't believe we need a buff to this degree.
That said, we're all discussing based on current content. It could be that over the course of SB we find that these changes were figured out by the Dev team to be necessary to keep up with new encounters etc.
Or maybe it really is just bad oversight on their part, we don't know yet until it's released.
My concern is healing boredom.
With this buff, the possible boredom that will come from safe healing and elongated windows for uninteresting dps rotations means I will be on auto pilot 100% of the time.
When I heal, I'm having the most fun when the odds are stacked against the party, when the party is taking damage and it's requiring quick reactions and be as alert as possible.
TL;DR I vote that this is an unnecessary buff. I do not enjoy easy healing with long, uninteresting dps rotations for a whole duties worth of content.

Heyho Elmays,
This Skill "Undraw" is only a QoL change for the PS4 user. The PC has an easy klick to turn off cards. On the PS4 its a bit harder I belive.
So you can use (Undraw) or klick the cards away till lvl 66. Than you have "Minor Arcana" -> Lord or Lady Card.

They have even been saying what you have in regards to the AST buffs. They agree they weren't needed. But seriously though, it's not bad to not want ast to get nerfed into the ground and be back on the bottom. No one wants their preferred job to be complete garbage. There's plenty of WHMs who want their job to be top dog, and it's the same for the other jobs.
It's not fun to be the undesired job, especially when you raid. I know my raiding future is riding on how Astro performs with the other healers. I don't want it to be op as it has been, I just want it to not be garbage so I don't have to scholar again T_T

While you and others feel that way, I know plenty of white mages who want to see Astro get nerfed to the ground, because they aren't the best anymore. While I think we should all want our brother/sister healing jobs to be good an not useless, there are still those who just want to be the best and don't care for balance. It's a shame, but true.
That's fair. Honestly as an AST/WHM player I just want to see all the jobs get enough diversity that they can work together and build off each other's strengths rather than competing for who gets the best version of each other's mechanics. It's so weird to me that they've been homogenizing the healers so much instead of rewarding having each others' backs in a game built around cooperation and coordination.

As a SCH main, the noct shields feel like such a slap in the face.
I still like the idea of AST having a regen and a shield stance, but not like this.
WHM was build around large heals and regens, but Diurnal AST now outshines them.
SCH was build around utility and shields, but Nocturnal AST now outshines them.
Maybe I am being a special snowflake, maybe I am being petty, but it still feels like I am getting slapped in the face.
