That's not how it works. +20% and -20% don't cancel out, they're multiplicative. It's actually not the same, it does more in grit, and a DPS loss out of grit.
with -20%(grit) and +20%(DS) = +0%, that means its potency is 650 +0%, unaffected by the stances.
w/o grit, that means its 520 +0%(no grit) +20%(DS) which is 624 potency.
so you lost 26 potency being out of grit.
Out of Grit:
380*1.2 = 456 potency
In Grit:
475*1.2=570 * 0.8 = 456 potency
While I know its multiplied, usually when I do the math, the difference is nearly 1-2% in most cases, so you are correct I did assume it was ok to just cancel them out, and that it wouldnt be greater than 2%. (plus I think i made a mistake when I tried to put the +20% onto the base dmg, and came up with a lower number, when I redid it, it was higher)
So I will have to agree that it's intended effect was to cancel out grits effect now. (Which yes, is odd they didnt just write what they did for InnerBeast in 2.x/3.x)

It's also worth mentioning that DRK has the advantage of not losing Blood Guage due to stance dancing. Whereas warrior and paladin have to sacrifice half their gauge to change stances. My source was Mr Happys video. If this information is incorrect, let me know.
Currently, and in Stormblood, Dark Arts costs roughly 25% of your MP to use. Stormblood is adding in The Blackest Night, and nerfing Dark Passenger by doubling its MP cost to that.
All other MP usage is fairly minor, Unmend 5%, Unleash 11.5%, Abyssal Drain 14%.
I'm running on % as that's simpler to process, due to being visually smaller and consistent numbers, and the fact that all of our MP recovery options also run on % rather than some portion of damage or whatever.
At the moment I think we can only assume that's its a matter of any form of expiring be it by time or consumption.Do you know exactly if The Blackest Night give 50 gauge on, like you said, time expire, or when it gets destroyed? A 50 gauge fill every 20 sec sounds a little to good if you ask me....
If it turns out to be only on time I suspect it will end up being tossed off onto a healer or something regularly to ensure it lasts, and only put onto tanks when the shield is actually somehow needed.
Blood Weapon Quietus would possibly see some use, but it'd still be a once or twice thing only. Would take 17 targets to pay itself off, Salted Earth at the same time would bring it down to 13-14 needed to make it spammable. Aside from that you're still stuck relying on single target and Abyssal Drain for AoE DPS.One interesting thing about quietus is you'll be able to use it while out of grit with blood weapon, there were a few AoE scenarios in HW where DRK was OT for trash packs, or simply didn't need grit (a few times in gordias for example). If you aren't getting hit for blood price it's hard to recover mp in an AoE scenario and since all DRKs AoE moves cost mp DRK had to rely on a lot of single target moves to keep up their AoE. Quietus + blood weapon will be a good way to recover mp between abyssal drains/unleashes.

I think this will help with theorycraft, its from famitsu and their version is more up to date compared to the embargo versions.

Seems sole survivor will increase damage by +10% against the target, this utility itself is a big reason to bring DRK alone.
I can't read that. Sole Survivor already does that by the way, the question is; Is the Stormblood version still limited to PvP only for that effect?I think this will help with theorycraft, its from famitsu and their version is more up to date compared to the embargo versions.

Sorry I didn't sound clear, but yeah Sole Survivor dmg works in PvE too if the tooltip is not wrong. It doesn't mention anything about PvP like in the NIN tooltip for example.
That will certainly be nice if it truly does get extended into PvE content.
Looking at Delirium there, I think that's saying Blood Weapon gets +8s and Blood Price gets +16s, am I looking at that right?
DRK is now going to have ridiculous mitigation. Usually a WAR will stack Inner Beast with a CD and it's basically what has made WAR's defensive kit so amazing. Now we got a similar action, except it's going to be better than Inner Beast (alone) when initial damage will not exceed our max HP. Furthermore, as a stacked CD, its mitigation is not lowered when stacked, unlike Inner Beast.
Not to mention the 50 Blood Gauge it gives, and it should be easy to break as a MT w/o Grit.
That said, our damage nerf is sad and I hope they give us Scourge back, which makes up half the nerf.
Thank you. The whole DRK complaint fiesta has been baffling me since the skill reveals. A 20% shield on a 15s cooldown that fills half the blood gauge sounds pretty damn amazing to me. And darkside mp drain is gone? Hell yes, please. New nuke, new aoe, and blood price extender all sound great. Don't know about anyone else, but I'm really looking forward to Stormblood DRK.
