Is there something wrong with what he said? You are not a special snowflake, neither is the OP. You are not entitled to anything besides being able to log into the game. I see nothing wrong with what he posted, because guess what? It's 100% truth.

I'm curious if there are emails that go out to inform FC leaders that their FC ownership is going to be transfered, similar to the email warnings that go out if your personal house is going to be demolished.
If not there needs to be, if there is then yeah, it's your own fault for not logging in sooner.
and they usually travel in packs...
Sorry you can't handle the truth. I'm not hear to get popularity, only to tell the truth.
If he wanted to open a topic with the discussion being "what can we do about this going forward" then I would be 100% ok with a open and honest conversation about this. Instead, he wants to cry because he was afk for an unknown period amount of time (over 35 days at the minimum)
Player
Sigh.. another person with not 100% of the information
1) To prevent FC leader from passing, you, yourself have to log in every 34 days at minimum. (Which is stupid, if you can't play the game, give lead to someone else >.>. that you feel would be a good person to "take up the mantle" if you will.)
2) To prevent the housing demo, you or your FC members have to walk in the house at least once every 44 days.
If neither of the above 2 happen, you don't deserve the house, plain and simple (under the current rules)

Players without houses wanted the ability to get houses from overly-afk players (because they don't "deserve" it), and the system that does this is a result of that.
Thank the playerbase!
Yoshi /facepalm!
I think some people are missing this part. OP intentionally let the house go to make use of the auto-demo in order to get some gil back to go towards the upcoming expansion. The issue they had wasn't that the house got blown up, it was that the leader got switched on'em for inactivity and so all the house explosion goodies got left to someone else, whom hadn't logged in for nearly the entire grace period given to retrieve said goodies (35 days after demo).Anyway, I heard Stormblood would bring a new housing zone. I thought this was a good time to upgrade houses. So I contacted my old second in command who has real life contacts with most of the other members and told him that we'd be destroying the house to keep the money for upgrading and buy things when the expansion comes.
If the player who has been out for 14 days doesn't come back, then in another 20-21 days it will do another automated leadership transfer, presumably back to your alt, assuming you login every day to maintai activity. It might not get you back the house and contents, but IIRC the company Chest is stored differently so although the house and contents is gone the chest isn't. If the game promotes you back to leader, you at least get the FC and Chest back.
Yes, so they were deliberately attempting to use the system to reclaim something but that same system bit them in the butt. You live by the sword and you die by the sword...I think some people are missing this part. "The truth" isn't a valid excuse to be mean, OP worded his post very neutral, just wondering if there's anything they can do, they didn't demand anything from SE or from the community like a special snowflake would, they are just consulting if there's any option they overlooked, that doesn't warrant the harsh reply you and the other person gave.
It really isn't that hard to treat other people like human beings.
