Hence why many, including me, are baffled that they continue to boost WHM's healing potential and try to market that as its 'benefit to the party'.

Indeed, I don't get it either. They had a chance to give something to White Mages - even if it was weak non-RNG buffs or something to party members. I know we haven't seen the new skills yet but I ain't got any hopes for them. First time I thought about changing away from WHM :/

We did get a look at some kind of new mechanic for WHM in the flowers so I wouldn't give up hope yet. They didn't discuss healer changes in much detail for any of the three jobs.

If that recast buff the flowers reportedly give is strong enough, we can look forward to perma Presence of Mind which would be kinda of hilarious. And broken, so it probably won't be quite to that level, but the potential is there. :P

Nor do I... and, yeah. I'll wait exactly until I see the complete spell list and effects, then I will decide what I do. But right now, I don't really have much hopes to stay WHM any longer, they literally slaughtered the class with how blind they seem to be. It's a shame, one of the most iconic classes is dying because of incompetence, and to add insult to injury, it's not even the first time that's happening since they did the same shit in XI, too.

Some of those skills could potentially be buffs, though, or at the very least Divine Seal-esque buffs to our heals. I'm nervous, but I'm not going to hang up my cane just yet.

Aye I remember that - I ended up moving to Red Mage which I am thinking of doing now. But about the flower stuff - indeed we haven't seen everything yet. Divine Seal is another thing that annoyed me but if they remove Synasty and Emergency Tactics I will at least be fine with it.

Unless they dramatically nerf the potency of Embrace, nerf the healing effect bonus of Fey Illumination and Synastry (since both AST and SCH get access to Divine Seal), AND dramatically increase the raid damage in fights, WHM will spend another raid tier being serviceable, but clunky and unfashionable. That barrier is worthless, and the leash is a role skill. I'm not even convinced Haste will save the job at this point. I was hoping to switch from raiding as a scholar for the past three tiers but that's looking unlikely.

Obviously everyone is engaging in some degree of speculation at this point, and things could change, but their comments lead me to believe they just have no idea how to address the lack of balance between the healing jobs. Maybe they don't even see it as a problem in the first place, and WHM is supposed to be for casual players who only do roulettes and their weekly 24 man.

Bingo, that's how I think they see White Mages.
