    They don't necessarily need constant prayer to stay in form. Think of it more like us eating food. Do we need to eat constantly? No, not literally. But we do need to consume regularly. They've also shown that the power of prayer lasts more than a few moments (Phoenix, anyone?) so the Shinryu-rip off summoned by Ilberd could be good for a few days at least, especially with aether batteries like the Eyes. Throw in the Doman belief in Shinryu and you may have a source of unwitting sustenance there as well.

    The whole "they were prayinf to Rhalgr" thing is actually only present in the English client. In the other 3 versions Ilberd talks about "summoning a new god who doesn't need any prayers".

    I wonder why Koji decided to do that? I never knew in the English version they said that. That's false information being fed to the player...
