Not really.

The superior gaming platform is the one that has the games that you want and the control system you prefer. For some that's a PC, for others it's a console, and still others a hand held or mobile device.

That's arguably superior marketing. Saying a console is a better platform because it has exclusives is just absurd. Consoles do have a better corporate money making scheme behind them though, I will agree there. And controllers can be used on PC so that point is irrelevant.

Can a console have its hardware swapped out and updated? No, not without using workarounds that jeopardize stability. Can a brand new console surpass or even match the graphics and features of a brand new PC built at the same time? If the game has decent optimization on both, nope. In most cases, a decent PC will have superior performance to new consoles for at least 1 generation actually.
