Well thats part of the reason why , the new jobs are starting at 50. Msq doesnt teach you how to do or play anything in a group setting nor do job quest as much as I love some of them. You learn in via dungeons or trails, and It is clear if you have played if you are behind then you make it harder on yourself this fact can not be denied. What are you gona do the story so you can get left behind in Castrum Meridianum, or The Praetorium or better yet sense poetics will be pretty useless come storm blood not even get a que for them or when you do get in be told to go watch and skip the cs and watch them in the inn. And have your party grip and complain when you wana watch cs just from shiva normal mood which are a bit lengthy.
Are skip the raids and trails where the actual content is challenging because this is essentially what one has to do now witout a jump potion and what they will have to do come stormblood we have a feature in the game and I will say it again its called unsync and its basically a way to see content and thus skip like 90 percent of the challenge from it. This is already in the game and it is a skip , so adding a jump potion will just make it irrelevant like it already is and allow everyone to start off at the same point in the game, there are consequences from playing from behind. I myself while I know I can make learning parties which I will admit that advice from the forums has worked, Im still behind in regards to other things Im stuck with the potd weapon when Im working towards all my other gear being 270. Behind on the anima weapon which is now 20 ilvls higher than my current, the shire weapon has a lock out which would take 2 months as well to farm, you see where Im going here Im fine with this myself but everyone else may not be like that.
In this game playing from behind hurts you and some people know that and the devs no that and that is why they are makin a jump potion, and they should this community does hardly anything to make new comers feel welcomed unless its to do some cake walk content like potd, or some unsync trails are , some of the easy leveling dungeons. Nobody wants to teach someone the latest stuff nobody has patients enough to let someone else learn in the same way they did a few months prior, so yes a skip is needed. I was 100 percent against this but then the more I played the game and the fact that pf is an exclusive club for clear and farm parties 80 to 90 percent of the time shows that playing from behind will only bring trouble to players. If they are willing to accept that then fine, but if not that is why they have the option to buy a jump potion and its needed bottom line.

The flaw is simply why a level skip/story jump potion is even an issue to begin with, from every angle youre all right to some degree. I personally feel like forcing this action just to let new players start with their friends is a serious problem that will never get fixed untill or unless they actually sit down and realize a real solution to the problem, solutions that the community has really drawn up that can be doable, as long as they just end the narrative of supa dupa warrior of light. All they have to do is be reasonable about the new content, not make it for 60+ i mean its silly to assume that unlike the three starting cities with low level mobs, that doma or any other place could even make a city mext tp ;eve; 99 notorious deathbeasts. It wouldnt be hard for them to just do this, and give new leafs a 300% exp bonus till level 59
but here we are, where we'll be in another 3 years because a dynamic story that happens in real time just cannot happen due to our character having to be 'the one' Yet we never single handedly down a primal, never single handedly downed a dungeon or raid. If the narrative changed, then we wouldnt be debating whether its morally acceptable to rename "skip to max/near max level" as anything but what it is just to make the game playable.
It's an issue because a game designed like this revolves around max level content. Go look at every other progression MMO in existence. So, if you want to rework the game to a place where this sort of thing will never be needed, it's going to have to be a whole new game, in a whole new subgenre. You're asking for them to scrap vertical progression and redo literally everything that exists in this game.
Edit: And a game like this HAS to revolve around max level content, so don't go barking up that tree. Why? Because players need to keep playing after they've "finished" the game. What did you do after beating your last single-player FF game? You probably stopped playing that game, because it was over. The real game pretty much has to be the end-game treadmill or the Multiplayer part of MMO stops existing, because people aren't playing the game after they've done the story.

but may I ask what does it do exactly they said all dungeons will be marked as complete so for instance you do one job at sixty with the potion , then the others you would still come across the same dungeons as you would have on your path up to 60. Even tho with many people by the time storm blood comes out will have most of the jobs they want to sixty or above people will still use roulette at least I hope,so again what would the new player be missing if they got to do all the dungeons on the path to sixty.
I tell you what they would miss the msq itself and if they bought the potion they made that choice on their own that the early part of the story wasn't worth seeing, and then the extremes the raids the trails. I came last summer I was new guess what I had to skip binding coil the same thing that a jump potion person would have to do, most people unsync or skip the primals the same thing that a jump potion person would have to do. So the question is what would they be missing out on by skipping other than the msq , all the other main content like dungeons they would have every opportunity to do , the only other stuff they would miss is stuff that if someone joined the game now would miss so I dont see any difference. If this game was a game where people did every piece of content from top to bottom if everything in the game you could get a que for any time you needed it then I would say no jump potion, but that isnt ff 14 content dies every three months so to tell someone to start at the beginning is just pointless because they would be skipping everything anyway because they wouldn't have anyone to run the content with them.
You would be surprised. In fact, the unofficial census done a few months back cited 56% of the entire active playerbase hasn't even finished up to 3.4.
Nonetheless, what does it matter if they "miss the entire point of a Final Fantasy title"? They don't care. You are never going to convince someone to like a story they simply aren't interested in. And it's a tad presumptuous to insist there are better games for them to play because you prefer the sanctity of the leveling process remain intact despite it having no bearing on your personal enjoyment of the story or game how another player chooses to participate. If you don't care, then why make a fuss over this jump potion? Without it, people uninterested in the story will simply spam the esc and numpad 0 keys to skip through everything. Square is merely offering them a sped up version of the process they already intend to do... for a price. And no, the MSQ or your job quests do not teach you anything you couldn't grasp by reading your tooltip.
That is a poor analogy since raiders who only care about raiding find fun with, you guessed it, raiding. The "point" for these types of players is the endgame.
how is that asking for scrapping vertical progression when it promotes vertical progression faster? Just because WOW does something doesnt mean FFXIV has to, it might even make it, i dunno a different mmo from WOW or "every other" man that would be weird, a different mmo from whats expected. I dunno guys seems scary to me cause WOW didnt have the benefit of its own history to work around and are stuck in the cesspit of not bothering to fix the issue.Sure they dont sell jump potions for any real amount of money, right? Cause thats what this is really about. "But think of the children!" if SE cared about the issue, then theyd give a free potion, no cash shop. Period. But thats not the case is it? Its just the angle you want to protect.
Now were just going to make subscriptions manditory, and expensive cash shop items manditory to even play this game, meanwhile were crying about the people who havent been playing for 4 or 5 years and they just need to get to start the game or else they wont be able to progress. And I offer a solution for the future, it doesnt have to fully happen next expansion, it could slowly evolve if theyre worried, but again the issue is there is a way and it wont be hard to do later on. They will not do it, because its profitable to do it like wow did/does. So I dont support the idea at all, but I do"
think of the children".

I'm starting to have a difficult time understanding what you're actually asking for, at this point. You just said you don't want to scrap vertical progression, but your post I quoted pointed in that direction. WTF are you asking for, then?
Edit: Give me a minute, here. I have to reread what you've written.
Edit 2: You said, in the post I quoted, to "make the new content not for 60+". How on earth are you supposed to do that and keep the progression intact?
