Why is no one paying attention to this? I don't care for Mrhappy whatsoever but even he noticed this. While I completely agree that toxicity will happen with jump potion, and the hypocrasy of not acknowledging it (by the devs or the community) is a really bad thing, I think that the toxicity arguement for parsers is a cover. I think the real reason (and it was touched upon by Yoshi P) is that they are very afraid of someone backwards engineering the parser software and exploiting it to edit damage calculations and numbers.
Excellent contribution to the discussion, thanks Capt. Obvious.
You incidentally proved my point entirely. Those without the resources to go "off the grid" will suffer.
I'll never understand this stance. Who cares how they reached max level? If they know how to play their selected job, wouldn't that be more important for a potential raid? Fun fact, a LOT of raiders skip through the story and grind PotD just to reach endgame super fast.
This is still a thing? Regardless, S-E likes money and people like being able to play new content with their friends. How is people returning and being able to play SB with those who remained subbed on day one of launch a bad thing? They would be better than 75% of the current player base, so how is this even an argument? Story? Well, people here think using the inn room is mandatory for watching cut scenes on the player's own time, why are they now saying its not adequate for watching cut scenes on the player's own time? Seriously, 40+ hours of linear, single player walking (with some instance MP sprinkled in places), that does NOTHING to teach players anything about their class OR watching several hours of the stuff that counts, followed by current content? Doesn't seem like much of a question to me.

These are the exact people that drop group after one fail without a single word. No patience or determination.I'll never understand this stance. Who cares how they reached max level? I think many of us defended the "how is this even an argument" over the last 190 or so pages. If you simply jumped to the end without putting in the time and effort to read the discussion, well.... you're our new poster child! This is still a thing? szalkerous I use to have your stance as well but the thing is, look at your party finder just take a look at it over a weeks time span, what does it say no bonus, no bonus, no bonus over and over and over again. What happens to old content it dies, if someone where to do the arr story if they even wanted to do content like coil , or the extreme primals what are the chances they would get a real challenging out of it other than being told to do it unsync id say pretty slim. These are the exact people that drop group after one fail without a single word. Same with hw content with stormblood coming out anyone who comes this summer to the game wont get to do Alexander are the extreme trails sync , hec people now can barely do it without facing the no bonus wall. This game is not welcoming to those whom dont know the content, and doing msq only keeps you trailing from behind, this is coming from someone who hasnt even finished dragons ong because I draged my feet but I know now if I want to do any sort of challenging content then I have to be on that train as soon as it arrives otherwise Ill have to make learning parties and put myself on the spot and be forced to learn content much faster than I would have.
This jump potion is A to give the game more funds which they need, and B it fits with the player bases attitude we are spoiled so content that comes out in jan is old by feb so if anyone wants to do the real stuff the challenging stuff they better do it sooner than later (hence why we need the jump potion ) .
The inherent flaw to running content sync'd is that 24-man raids aren't able to be level sync'd at this point (to the best of my knowledge). There were groups on reddit that were looking to run a lot of content sync'd for the challenge, and even went so far as to manually equip exact ilvl among their entire 24-man to get it done. It's out there. Most of the "no bonus" PF posts are for farms, and a farm usually isn't meant for first-timers. They want to grind as fast as possible multiple times. However the "CLEAR" posts are generally for bonus. People just don't need to advertise that, it's implied.szalkerous I use to have your stance as well but the thing is, look at your party finder just take a look at it over a weeks time span, what does it say no bonus, no bonus, no bonus over and over and over again. If you dragged your feet, that's entirely your fault. Most of the content has been out there for a lonnnng time, and over time a lot of it was nerfed (see: Anima weapon) for those who waited too long. They already saw that some people will wait for winter and complain they have no heat or food, and realized that new players would be in the same scenario. So that's kinda a non-excuse.
As for the last paragraph, Square does NOT need money. This game is still sub-based and you can easily find online how much they rake it on that alone... These pots are GREED and GREED ALONE.
Examples: http://massivelyop.com/2016/02/04/sq...l-fantasy-xiv/
(which links to their FY '15 final earnings sheet)
http://www.hd.square-enix.com/eng/ne...q3earnings.pdf
(direct link to FY '16 just released a few weeks back, showing even greater profit)
For a company that made $1.3 billion USD in sales and $194 million USD in operating income (subscriptions are in that number), with a reported company-wide net profit of $152 million USD in nine months, I don't think we can argue these pots are needed to keep the company, or FFXIV, running.
Not to mention that as far as all my research shows, FFXIV is the #2 subscription MMORPG on the market, and this is even in spite of a lull in players in the months leading up to a major expansion which will explode the playerbase with new and returning players all over again. So if you wanted people to run all that "old" content, I'd be online around June through August.

Uh, no offense. You clearly don't raid with hardcore players or even a good number of midcore, come to think of it. Wanting to skip the story doesn't inherently make you a bad player. Some people simply aren't interested in it.
