Thank you. All this outrage, telling others they are bad for spending money, and complaints of a business trying to make money.... it smacks of such entitled first world problems it makes me ill sometimes.Yoiu don't "have" to get anything from the mogstation... I dunno where people get the idea they are forced to.
Sure I don't like the fact there are things being added soley to the mogstation but it is no where near necessary to obtain them. Wanting and needing are two very different things.
If you buy them then you really should be looking to yourself as the problem.
And the reason why the excuse is always "people will use it to harass low parsers" is because they don't want to give anyone the real reason why. It may be a small price to pay to keep hackers and dataminers in the dark, but I'd just as soon the actual combat mechanics in the game stay proprietary and we not have people cheating the system for personal gain.
Actually is linked to account unless you have multiple accounts. Second You don't have to, it's optional. Last, past events well people get their chances. Now if your a struggling student I can udnerstand but some things are more like...why would people pay for it? Oh yeah to show off or actually seems decent.I can understand putting past events items on mog station, but new emote/glamour/mount that goes straight to mogstation while not giving active sub a chance to obtain them in game is just pure greed, and whats even worst is that most item are solely single character, or if u have alt or future alt u will have to buy it again.

Nothing is gonna be exploited just because people know how a damage formula works, people have been figuring out that stuff for years now to determine stat weights.
He was clear about what's his fear regarding parsers in the fan fest, you should watch it.
You guys are overreacting look at any list of top grossing mmos and this game will not be on it , like having a sub base actually turns players off and not everyone likes ff genre. But those of us whom do shouldnt be complaining when this game wants to make an extra buck , it supports the game this game isnt drowning in money so every little bit helps stop complaining if you dont want the items dont buy them.
Can you post that list? I'm certain this game is a top 5 game

Old stuff into the mogshop doesn't really bother me, even when I miss stuff, to me it encourages (doesn't guarantee) that they'll make decent rewards each event and also makes it so people feel it is more valuable because it literally is (you know there will be a monetary value to your free item). Reskins are less annoying but pretty silly imo.
I loathe exclusive stuff though.. SE please xD. Perhaps if they added something like EQ had with the whole you get cash shop money from your sub, so you can get - everything - without getting out of your sub unless you wanted every random item and you kept missing events. They discussed changing the veteran system, maybe we'll go to that?

Those lists include DotA2 and League of Legends. A Final Fantasy MOBA would be cool, but it wouldn't be an MMO and I have no idea why so many sites are so keen on conflating the two.
Why do you think that? I don't recall reading anything negative about FFXIV's money making abilities since it was re-released. Just the opposite actually.
Does it not also turn players off if there's additional fees on-top of a sub?
I thought my $15/mo did that, though?
Then shouldn't they add incentives for new players to join the game, and current subscribers to keep playing, rather than just adding new stuff for additional fees? If my choice is between two games, and I like both games equally, why would I pick the one that has three (Game, Sub, Cash-Shop) prince-sinks for content as opposed to the other, which has two (Game, Sub) for new content?
