Thats on you, I'm not making this inssue bigger than it is. People keep talking nosense when current reality is: once in a duty you can't repair your gear outside having required DoH and it's a bad desing chooice. This can be solved by (without removing DoH importance):

    - Allowing crafter to repair other players gear (not by favourite option).

    - Allowing DoH to craft, and sold, repair tools.

That's just the thing, though. It's not a bad design choice. It's a game mechanic. Failure to execute it is supposed to harm you. If there is a set of big orange arrows over your head and you run away from the party, you get punished. If there is a black and red eye and you don't avert your gaze, you get punished. If the meter next to your gear nears empty and you don't repair, you get punished. "I didn't see it," and "I didn't care enough to deal with it right that second," are neither valid excuses for failure to execute the mechanic properly nor valid motivation for changes to the system.

Being able to repair your own gear in a duty is crafters' Benediction to the gear durability mechanic.

The system is meant to inconvenience and to irritate you if you're irresponsible. Clearly, system working as intended.

The system that cover what you are saying is time limit, repairing is just a simple gil sink nothing more nothing less. Probably thats why reparing tools are never going to happen (gil sink turned into a way to earn money), if they decide to change it at some point probably will be with a crafteable mammet working as a regular mender or one DoH will be aviable to fix all gear.

I don't know, since this is the first time you've mentioned your friends or implied that you only do content in premades. So far you've only argued about how "bad" the system is (which has nothing to do with the topic at hand) and asked why SE doesn't just add repair kits. And to repeat the answer to that: people who forget to repair their gear often enough that it's always breaking mid-duty aren't going to remember to buy kits anyway. If they can remember to visit an NPC to maintain a stack of kits, they can remember to visit a mender on a regular basis which renders the kits pointless.

With this kind of mindset potions and food should not be a thing.
False equivalency. Food and potions aren't a requirement for anything. Making sure your gear doesn't hit 0% in the middle of a duty is.
