I had actually been thinking this was probably the case too; seeing as how the Scarlett Witch one didn't really take that much deep thinking to understand / be able to connect the dotsI think Yoshida was trying to be a bit clever with the shirt tease, and perhaps didn't realize the connection to blue mage that players started theorizing. Or he intentionally did it to create confusion/multiple theories to keep players guessing. Samurai was already highly expected to be coming from past comments, and so a shirt that would make it obvious it was indeed coming would have been far too easy and so he chose to go with a more bizarre approach that's a bit of a stretch to make players doubt it.
What ever the shirt ends up standing for I really hope Yoshida explains why he linked it to whatever job it ends up being lol

Same, not sure if he will explain it but would definitely love it if he could explain it, seeing as how we got 77 pages of guessing (and I don't even know if the other forums also got their own t-shirt threads); it would be amazing to know what was his reasoning behind the shirt XDD
@ the 4 weeks
He doesn't need to explain it though. If it's samurai and that's the only other job going to be in stormblood then the Sam Raimi angle was the correct one.
More likely its the fact that Spiderman is one of the few Western Comicbook Characters to have ever been stylized as a Samurai. Makes more sense than Sam Raimi.
I was thinking it could be the whole Samurai Spiderman thing but, since there have been so many theories tossed around, I can't say it wouldn't exactly be bad to know which one was correct in the end. At any rate; knowing or not (about what was the real meaning behind the shirt), I'd be happy about SAM regardless
I honestly have no clue what the spiderman/samurai correlation is, cause I cannot get behind that Sam Raimi bs lol. I will not accept that.I was thinking it could be the whole Samurai Spiderman thing but, since there have been so many theories tossed around, I can't say it wouldn't exactly be bad to know which one was correct in the end. Your guess is as good as mine at this point xD I'm not sure about the Sam Raimi thing though for all we know that could be it, but was more of agreeing with Vexander on the Samurai version of Spiderman; which I believe should be this:
I haven't read through the entire thread, but has anyone pointed out the japanese samurai version of spiderman?

If that's it or not, I guess we'll see in one month ~
But the question is - when? This design is being applied to an NPC perceived as a nemesis. From a lore standpoint it could be sensible to leave SAM in that representation and unavailable to players until the MSQ gets us closer to that NPC's point of origin. It could clue SAM as coming, but it could be at a later time.
...as an aside, he looks quite similar to Odin.
