Lvl 40 summoner in training here. I main BLM, so I'm used to big numbers, which makes this job feel a tad weak upfront. At the moment it just feels like a DoT wait-fest, does it get any more involved or is this all I have to look forward to short of a deathflare here and there?

Sadly ARR smn is literally keeping dots up and using your aetherflow stacks. 60 smn is all about aether stack management and finding the right time to burst.

HW smn got some burst skills for raw dmg aside of deathflare like painflare, fester and ruin lll - you will get your numbers back :3

Don't have a macro but I think this would work:

/ac swiftcast <me> <wait.1>
/ac summon <me> <wait.2>
/pac obey <pet>

edit: just tested in game, the animation for the summon is too long for a wait.1, wait.2 seems to do the trick

I looked it up and it nets you a total stat weight of 3068,17. If you would switch the buffood to priestly omelette and the head and shoes to Alexandrian, you would achieve a stat weight of 3074,513 even though you will have 635 accuracy then.

Hi all. I was hoping to get some advice on learning how to manage my pets. I have started a summoner as an alt class and from all the information that I have been reading on learning how to play the class, Pet Management is super important. I main a WHM so this is my first foray into DPS. Are there any macros to make this task a bit easier? I play on PS4 and use a controller, so saving space on my hot bars are going to be super helpful. I saw someone post a summon pet and place on obey, but I don't remember where it was, I'll have to go find it. Are there any others? I'm level 41 right now.

you take Garuda, put it on "obey" (while you shouldn't have the boss/mob in the target since Garuda starts attacking then) and you use Contagion (preferably for a Dreadwyrm Trance'd Tri-Disaster) and Aerial Slash on 2 or more targets (never on just 1). If you want to "place" your pet somewhere don't forget that it won't follow (and then you will have to recast it). Another trap are arenas where you stay close to the entrance (Faust in A8 for instance) ... be sure to move your pet inside the arena, otherwise it could get locked out.
