Lord no! Normal modes are enough of a pushover already. There should be some challenge in content outside extremes and savage.

(With some frequency, as in my experience the most under-par players are either DPS or Heals, and your heals CAN'T be under-par for this fight)

I don't see arguing for difficulty in normal mode to be worth it. It's meant to be facerool. And the precedent with difficult fights in the story/normal modes is they will get nerfed to oblivion in time. (Steps of Faith anyone?)
Steps of Faith was nerfed because it gated off the expansion and people were intentionally dropping out of it trial. Basically, Square panicked at the possibility new or returning players wouldn't be able to unlock Heavensward. A better example would be Pharos Sirius. Nonetheless, we more recently saw demanding for nerfs on Final Steps of Faith and Weeping City, which the devs flat out said would not happen. People eventually get better if you push the accordingly. Slight curves in difficulty are how you can build a midcore for your game. Another stickler to Steps of Faith is veteran players who cleared it had no reason to stick around. You didn't get anything. Weeping City forced patience because of the rewards.

And there is a mode for challenge, it's called savage. Normal mode should be for experiencing the story.

I found A10 to be the easiest as long as no one stood on the buttons.

Some people need to calm down read what the OP was saying. Here, I'll break it down:

In comparison to A9, A10 & A11 the healing requirements of A12 seem out if step.

Now, the OP did not say that it needed nerfing, or that it was too difficult, just that in comparison to the rest of the new Alexander raids it is unusually tight. Imagine the jump from healing Brayflox to Stone Vigil at their original ilevel - it comes as a shock. It's not particularly difficult to heal SV but if you're expecting an easier time like in Brayflox you've had it. That is what I took from the original post.

That doesn't mean normal should be a complete joke. Asking you to play a little above "click three buttons" isn't asking much. Besides, this is week one. We'll be so laughably overgeared soon enough, it won't be an issue.

And that was my intent. Shocked was a good way to put it, even watching the guide video, I was not prepared for the damage numbers going out.

I didn't say you weren't capable but everyone can get better. Also I haven't had a run yet that drastic so I think you had bad luck.

But then you backtrack and say

My first run(blind) took 2 tries. My second we wiped 5~ times & quit & my third took 2 tries & succeeded(my friend healed this). It really separates the okay healer from the good healer & I think it's fantastic as is, just like Midas 4 on release. If anything it's a little boring for the MT :v
