What is your preference for a player to get a commendation?

Telling people to LB is orderly acceptable as the standard operating procedures for this aren't as prolific as you'd think. Furthermore, everyone contributed to filling the gauge, they should have some say in how it's used. Lastly, there is absolutely no reason at all to hang onto it until 15%. None. You risk dropping damage on the ground if you wait too long and that is a waste.

I don't know why, but it just bothers me when the second the DPS gauge dings full, the WHM or tank use macro that says "Use LB!! <se.3>" or something.
I just think "okay okay, don't worry, I got it. It's under control."

It especially bothers me when I am in the middle of my Sneak Attack rotation, just about to use Sneak Attack and start my rotation, or I know the boss is about to use an AoE that I will need to evade. If I use LB as soon as the other person wants, I know I'm going to get hit by incoming AoE. So I'll wait until it is safe.

On a similar note, when I was first leveling ninja, my first melee DPS class, I was scolded for using LB on 2nd boss when it had about 50% HP remaining. Since that time, I've been hesitant to use LB until about 15% or slightly less, depending on the boss.

Oh yes. You should never wait and use it as soon as it pops (unless like you said, waiting for an AoE to be safe). If people get angry, just wait till the end of the fight and tell them it made no difference. The damage it does will remain the same whether used at the beginning or the end. Also, sometimes if you are lucky enough it might pop again near the end of the fight! It even might help you speed through some phases.

When I play as DPS, whatever my job is, I use it no matter how much the boss HP is, or what my job is. Use it whenever you want. It's not only for melee or "need to wait 15% then LB". Who cares with it lol.

careful with that! i know someone that was thrown in the gaol once...for harrassment. because they used melee lb1 whenever it was available in Void Ark

Doesn't it go to LB2 in Void Ark? He wasn't waiting until it was full.

This is ridiculous. Using a dps limit break on a boss isn't harassment. If they used LB1, it was prolly because LB2 wouldn't fill in time before the boss was dead. You can't always wait until it's full of it might never get used at all. But even if they just pulled it early - it's less than optimal that's annoying but it's a far cry from harassment let's report them and have a mod talk to them in Gaol behavior. Grow some patience people...

This doesn't even say he was using it on the boss, only as soon as it was available. They could have been burning it on anything. Or when invulnerable mechanics are in play.

You'd be surprised how many randoms in DF freak out at me for using caster LB on trash pulls, bonus rage for when I use it after the tank mass pulls from barrier to barrier so it's most effective >.>

You know, I get there you might be in the middle of a rotation. That makes sense to me. As a healer I try to let it sit there at full for a few gcds before I'll say something. My assumption is that you noticed and I'll only point it out if I've convinced myself you didn't.

But, the proper way to handle the lb is to use it as soon as is feasible after it fills, because it starts filling up again after you use it. The longer it sits at full the more potential damage is wasted. So sometimes it does frustrate the tanks and healers when the dps sit on it for an inordinate amount of time, because they are the wasted potential but we have no capacity to do anything about it EXCEPT communicate.
