Running around town, buying handfuls of +3 gear and a bunch of tier IV materia, then bonding materia to the gear until you make a godly piece...and being able to do this all because 1 out of every 3 drops you get is a +3, and 1 out of every 4 synths you make is a +3, which in turn makes you shit-loads of gil to buy whatever the hell you want; and allows you to make gear that your unlucky counterparts will never have....that's your idea of "hard work" and fairness?

In the long run everyone has a fair shot. Just because the guy in your example has temporary good luck doesn't mean he's gonna have the same luck down the road. If you don't know how to play the game he will then lose his money as fast as he obtained it.

"Luck" plays little part in this. It's a term used by those who lack the skill and dedication. Someone with worse luck than him can still easily get ahead if he knows wtf he is doing.

if I earn my gil legitimatly, why not? everyone has equal chance to get gil in this game. Do you call this game unfair when someone get dungeon drop at their first time, while you still didnt get it on your 10th attempt?
