A cash shop shouldn't be in a subscription model MMO. However, we live in an age where people will pay half the full MSRP of a new game for a mount. I've already equated in my mind the shape of the moogle on the mount with a "whale."

For what it's worth, I don't mind new glamours in the cash shop, but I agree that the use of the cash shop is a slippery slope that needs to be put in check (As a longtime player of DC Universe Online I'm already used to a Cash Shop in a subscription-based game).
As for what I would like to see, I would like to see the School outfits from both VIII and Type-0. Maybe some iconic outfits from the "heroes" of Final Fantasy or some Kingdom Hearts outfits.
Odin's armor for Tank with a nice long cape (dragging a bit on the ground) as well...and yes I would pay for it. My money my choice. I just don't understand how a simple question posed "Outfits I want to see in Mog station" becomes such a long arduous debate. Just answer the question if you are inclined to buy something and are willing to pay for it. Yes it would be nice to have them also attainable in game but that is NOT the op's question the question, again, was "Outfits I want to see in Mog station"
Except it's not P2W because anything sold on the Mog Station is untradable, and if it is, SE already has rules and policies in place that attempt to stop them. (I say attempt because people don't listen...)

Which leads us to the original comment that started this tangent:
I suppose the token system that WoW uses would be p2w as well, which is allowing people to pretty much exchange real money for ingame money and allows people to buy game time with in game gil. Token system and jump potions are things SE are "considering" which is translated into "what price do we set these things at?" As for selling things on the marketboard from the cs, its already easy enough to deal with since they can just make it untradeable after purchase. People think there will be this mass gil influx but dont realize that a large population of the game already has more money than they can spend since there's not enough gil sinks in the game. Both sides kinda win imo. As for buying clears/gear, people have been doing that since Titan HM and Coil before they were nerfed. Not enough people even care about raids now as they did then, so honestly there wont be enough people to buy savage clears from anyway lol maybe extremes.
F2P MMOs work that way, which is why most of the content in the first place is only vanity/glamour, on top of that, automatically has untradeable and such attached to it. People can always just trade a code for gil, but that's against ToS as I've already mentioned.

Just because you didn't care for the events or prefer not to farm Mgp for the item doesn't necessarily mean that SE didn't seek to benefit from the events or that others wouldn't rather participate in them (or the gold saucer) than buy the item off the cash shop. Also doesn't mean that those two options are the only possible alternative methods of getting the item that are present in the game. They're only the ones I happen to have mentioned. There are a number of side quest lines that could offer them as a reward for example; Hildibrand, beast man quests, etc. Dungeon drops. Rewards for the anniversary event. Some have already been offered as vet rewards which do require a lot of time and subscription payments, but if you enjoy the game enough to stick with it long term then that's an eventual given. There's a number of possibilities.Because events cost resources. They have to write a script, make new character models and the reward itself, all for nothing. Do you want a 15 minute forgettable event like Lightning or something longer and/or better down the road? As for the gold saucer... I would much rather pay real money than grind MPG for months on end ala Fenrir. That's just me though.
But IMO there's no good reason to campaign to get items that are normally added to the game through non-cash shop means to be added to the cash shop instead, unless you're well aware of the possibility that once the first outfit is thrown on the CS and major bank is made, that'll be the new standard for future outfits. If you're okay with that, then that's great. I'm not though.

Currently, yes, things cannot be sold. Someone had made the comment that SE would make more money from the CS if we could just sell the items in game directly vs. having to gift them through mogstation. This spawned the discussion on P2W in this game. All groovy now?
