F2P MMOs work that way, which is why most of the content in the first place is only vanity/glamour, on top of that, automatically has untradeable and such attached to it. People can always just trade a code for gil, but that's against ToS as I've already mentioned.

Currently, yes, things cannot be sold. Someone had made the comment that SE would make more money from the CS if we could just sell the items in game directly vs. having to gift them through mogstation. This spawned the discussion on P2W in this game. All groovy now?

I get that, but I'm saying it's pointless. F2P MMOs work that way, is this a F2P MMO? No. We groovy now.

Well it isn't too farfetched of an idea. It's really a morals game on where you draw the line. WoW, for example, lets people buy a game token that, when used, gives a player an extra 30 day subscription, and sell it on the AH for a decent amount of (market value) gold. There though, while that might be a P2W practice, gold has REALLY sunk in actual value. People managed to cap their gold limit per character during WoD with several minutes worth of effort, just for continuing to do their daily routine thanks to the Garrison feature lol.
For XIV, we're not at a point where gil is pointless, though we are getting there. So it's currently a non-issue, as you said.

Ah, I can see its uses in that case, but yeah I do think there is no value in a sub token or something to that effect with the value of gil currently.Well it isn't too farfetched of an idea.
