Outfits I want to see in Mog station

I'd honestly think the cash shop would pull in even more money if they let you directly sell all the items on the marketboard versus the gifting thing.

That is where you start sliding down the slope that is known as P2W. Plenty of people would happily spend their RL money to become filthy rich in-game, which would create havoc in all the markets.

Granted, the advantage you would gain in this game is pretty limited compared to other games, but I personally don't think it belongs in XIV.

P2W only applies to something that advances people further in the game. Having a glamour advantage over others I honestly wouldn't consider it being that. The whole jump potion thing will be otw by 4.0 so there will be several threads on that when they arrive. Could that be p2w? If it is, I guess WoW is p2w since they've been selling level boosts for about 2-3 years now, yet since that game has quite a large player base than this one, it doesn't get that many complaints.

What I will consider p2w in this game is the retainer selling, which should honestly be more focused on than this since it does more than provide people with space. You get more marketboard selling space and they can bring back some pretty pricey materials.

I edited my original comment to acknowledge that the actual gain would be minimal in this game, but it would still exist (probably just missed since they were posted around the same time).

One example, If I suddenly had $50M gil to my name, I could become the master crafter I've always wanted to be, max out all my gear, craft anything and everything and squeeze out all the other crafters. The initial gil spent on all of this would be negligible as I could just go sell some more items from the CS to pad my bank.

Another example would be that more people would suddenly have spare gil to spend on hording more houses, if they so desired

I'm sure there are some other examples to be had that others may think of.

Again, the advantages in this game are definitely far less extreme than you'd find elsewhere, but they are there.

Buy CS item > Sell on MB > Use money to buy clear/runs > Get dropped gear > P2W

On topic, I would love Terra's outfit. Gold Saucer, Mogstation, both, Vet reward... I would do things I wouldn't be proud of for that. My popoto needs this.

This is just semantics at this point. If someone can spend $100 on the CS and turn it into in-game currency, that is P2W IMO.

Except it's not P2W because anything sold on the Mog Station is untradable, and if it is, SE already has rules and policies in place that attempt to stop them. (I say attempt because people don't listen...)

Except gil in this game doesn't really have any real value except for epeen stroking, but that a totally different topic.
