Forum is not just for those that agree. Letting SE know when we don't like suggested changes has value too. I don't offer suggestions because I think game is in a good place and does 't need any shakeups.
I dunno...When you have a thread with numerous people stating they're unsubbing...I don't think the game is in a good state. Not even this thread. The threads about the game's direction are appearing much more frequently in comparison to how they were months or a couple years ago. To say the game is "Perfect" right now falls under the saying, "Ignorance is bliss"
The amount of people who post on this forum is less than a tenth of the player base. We literally just had a loose poll a week or so back where the vast majority of respondents said they liked the game how it is, and that it only needs minor improvements to be where it should be. These threads are just echo chambers when you get down to it. Everyone who disagrees is bullied out.I dunno...When you have a thread with numerous people stating they're unsubbing...I don't think the game is in a good state. Not even this thread. That doesn't really change anything I've said. The amount of people who post on this forum is less than a tenth of the player base. People in polls as you said say the game requires "minor improvements". Which calls for the game not being perfect. Call it technicalities if you wish, but it is the truth. You can like the game if you wish and that's fine, but even they agree there are changes that need to be made. Whether minimal or drastic is subjective.
Just so we're clear. Neither me or the poster you were replying to said the game was "perfect". You made that assumption. That doesn't really change anything I've said.

Anything dealing with statistics or collecting data should be taken with a grain of salt. However, the poll I've linked is comparable to the number of likes that this thread's OP received. Loosely speaking 100 people feel that the OP's view is reflective of how the game really is. We have no "dislike" button, so this creates a one sided discussion. The poll has biased options which was mentioned both on reddit and on the forum thread. Take it with a grain of salt, as I said. On the other hand, more than 500 of the 684 voters don't seem to lean towards the idea that the game is in need of a drastic overhaul. Which is precisely what I wanted to point out.I see this statement coming up often in the forums.
I would like to say that you are not wrong, but not 100% right.
While it's true that a big chunk of active players never post/don't care about the forum, it's also true that a lot of players silently quit without posting on the forums because they just don't care about putting some effort in a discussion because it's just easier to jump in another game.
The only feedback you can get is the posts you get on the forums, and the actual sub count (which nobody here actually knows), and I don't really trust polls since we know most of them can be easily exploited.

Where are those 500 people I would like to ask, that's why I'm suspicious. They read the forum so much that they even go cast a vote on a foreign website, but don't care about making a post to say how much they love the game?
I know we don't have a dislike button and I always wondered why, but at least the likes can't be faked by IP resets or some other thing which only 1 person could do by himself. I didn't vote in that poll for example, because I really don't trust the results.
I remember we also had a recent poll on which one was the best MMORPG on some website in which most games were banned from it because people were faking the results, that's what I'm talking about.
Until we get some kind of poll where people can cast only 1 vote (being account bound) there is really no reason to publish those results as if they speak for the truth.

You're yelling and screaming at the wrong person. Try making a thread directed at the community reps and see what happens. Anything that isn't administrated or moderated by SE is going to be subject to a number of problems.Where are those 500 people I would like to ask, that's why I'm suspicious.

When I am given material to work with to make such an assumption, you can expect that. Typically when saying the game is "Fine the way it is and doesn't need changes" usually equals out to it being "Perfect". You may not have said that, but there was a reason why I said what I said.

If you let the forum represent everyone in the game, then you are heavily misinformed on how the general population of FFXIV thinks. The amount of players who are actively on the forums is an extremely low percentage. Not to mention, a lot of times the issue you are all preaching to get SE to respond to is from a vocal minority. I am not saying what the community is thinking either. I am just not going on about "this is what everyone thinks"I dunno...When you have a thread with numerous people stating they're unsubbing...I don't think the game is in a good state.
