Someone needs to copy and paste Beetle's post and translate it to JP and slap it on the JP forums.. Seriously, I think it's the only way we'll get answers.

I would agree with most of it but after thinking about it I think it would be extremely hard toget rid of the tome system with being best in slot and weekly caps. Main issue is its the main reason why people que up for duty finder and be matched with other players that need content done. You could add OP companions to dungeons but you have trials which are a different story. I would think it be the best way for players toget the next tier of gear for players to tackle the new primal & new 8 man dungeon designed as a raid. Please remember that the new stats/armor system I suggested wouldn't exactly mean all the gear from the tome set you would go after.
So for example some armor might have a piece that boosts skill that you might wanna always hold onto.
I did add more to it. Probably forgetting stuff that should be added/fixed.
Also gave some more thought about Hunts. You could Buy pop items to spawn Hunts with Allied Seals & Centro Seals. Adjustments would have to be done on all the hunts to be more fun and rewarding.
Please note this will be like Zeni NM system.
Unlock Hunt ranks
Hunt 1 Limsa= Buy pop item with like 100 allied seals, Pop item that spawns Dark Helmet.
Go out to where it normally spawns around the lv50 enemies.
Trade x
A larger & more harder version of Dark Helmet spawns. (Something like requires 5 il120 lv50 players to take down.)
Kill it.
Everyone gets like 5k gil + 30 poetics.
30% chance it drops a tank helmet "Dark Helmet" il125
Person that spawned the enemy gets a Dark Helmet Fragment in there keyitems.
Go back to Hunt NPC in limsa, talk and trade fragment. You been promoted to Rank 2 hunts.
Process repeats.
