    Yes we do.

End-game raiding lasts for like 1-2 months if you raid it (depending on group skill) and want to be full raid tier BiS geared, by the time the next content patch hits there's another 3 months wait before next raid tier hits so that's a 4 months wait, unless people want to gear another Job it could take another two months to get Chest piece with tokens, which would translate in being very unlucky with the drops.

Basically raiding atm is, 2 Months to gear up (and 4 months of wait for next tier), only to be completely useless once new tier comes.

I not only would like gear sets for example i'd also like gear to last longer and be harder to obtain.

4.0 should arrive in one Year, i want to see how this game is doing before the expansion comes at the rate things are going.

If you'd indeed been enjoying the game so much before, I'm just left wondering why you would want it to have changed. Of course new content keeps coming out, but it's still the same game, so is going to remain the same types of content. Any drastic changes in its overall style would leave the new content feeling too out of place.

That's what it sounds like. What you're describing is simple burnout. You've been playing so much that the same things you used to enjoy start feeling like a chore instead.

MMOs try to keep players around for a really long time, because the developers make more money off them that way, but from a player's perspective, it's not really the best way to enjoy a game. Take a break and play something else for a while. Maybe after you've finished or tired of your next game or the one after, you could try coming back and see if you can enjoy this one again.

Or some people find just changing around what they're doing in a game helps to counter burnout. You could try starting a fresh new character where you could play the storyline again and get away from the repetitive grind of endgame for a while.

Playing more casually can help with burnout as well. In my case, I played nearly every day for the first several months the game was out. But once I started feeling too burned out by that, I dropped down to a much more casual schedule, playing on average maybe a couple days a week or so. (Sometimes it's more, sometimes less, but I don't keep up the several hours every day pattern for more than an occasional week or two at a time.) For me, that's been enough to halt the burnout problem for the most part. When I still get burned out anyway, I take a couple weeks off and then I can enjoy it again.

If you're more seriously burned out on the game, though, then you might need a significantly longer break before you can enjoy it again. Or you may simply have reached the point where you've played as much of this game as you enjoy and it's time to decide you're finished with it. Liking a game doesn't really mean you have to spend the rest of your life on it. I really like the original Final Fantasy game, for instance, and have played through it several times, but I'm not currently playing it. The last time I played it was several years ago. It's possible I might play it again one of these years, but if not, that's ok too. It's all right to have enjoyed something but be finished with it. Maybe you're finished with FFXIV. Some people are.

I can't take a break for more than 45 days, because I will lose my house. And I don't want to lose my house.

    My endgame is:
    0. patch came out
    1. spend fortune on melds into new crafter and gatherer gear
    2. return that fortune using geared crafters and gatherers
    3. new patch came out, goto 0

At the risk of sounding like a broken record... I would really suggest taking a break.

It's not to be mean, but among all these 'Change or RIOT' threads on the forum lately, being in an echo chamber of negativity can really warp your perception of the actual state of the game.

Trust me, I say this as a moderator of another game that is in a FAR worse state than this game, and I ask myself on a daily basis exactly how much of the fault lies with the development team or the community hell-bent on a self-fulfilling prophecy. I actually took a 2 month break from that game and returned to find out things weren't nearly as bad as I had been led to believe. It was then that I realized that I had suffered from burnout accumulated over 3 years.

The OP I quoted stated FF14 is being designed for instant gratification players rather not the so called hardcore MMO players. So please next time read the post before you attempt to tell someone something rather than jumping to a mindless conclusion.

There is a lack of overall content throughout the game.
There are many QoL adjustments that SE hasn't attempted to correct.
Many things talked about like new summon egis, GC ranks, expanded inventory and Odin summon never see the day of light and get pushed back to a pending release date.
Many of the side content like diadem and gold saucer die almost immediately after release due to lack of support
Zero communication between the dev team and the player base
And highly evident short money flow and staffing power also hindering the game.

But please tell me how this game is being designed for instant gratification type players please tell me what npc I can go talk to and get my 240 relic done right now, please tell me what quest I can do to get all 240 armor on completion, and what npc I can speak to so I can earn unlimited gil. Don't worry, I'll wait.

    1. To be fair, there is a ton of content in the game. While I would like more in the areas that I partake in, I acknowledge that some content just does not interest me and I choose not to partake in it. That does not mean that it isn't there though.

    2. To be sure, but there are also a ton of other things they are working on and not all "QOL adjustments" mentioned in the forums are things that all people want.

    3. They have already addressed their reasons for not having more egis whether you agree with them or not. The new glammers are due out next patch, I think actually... I forgot. It was mentioned in a recent live letter.

    4. They are aware of the Diadem's failure and have plans to fix it. Next patch is supposed to be a big update for it.

    5. Umm.. what? The devs have live letters every month telling us what's coming in future patches. That, by definition, is communication. The community team does an awesome job getting concerns, feedback and ideas through. But not all ideas on the forums here are good ideas. I don't envy their job of having to sort through it all. Yoshi P has mentioned several times that they monitor the forums and look for feedback.

    6. I'm sure any company working on an MMO could use more money and more staff. OK, except maybe Blizzard which seems to have money to burn on film making now.

That's the problem with the younger generation playing online Mmos today. They want to rush to cap level just so they can go around running like a meeseeks going. "Look at me! I'm Mr. Lvl 60!". I've swapped servers multiple times with friends and I ENJOY playing this game playing with people to keep me going. If you just play through this game doing just the story with just one class you WILL burn out. That's going to happen to ANY MMO though. Hell I been on my Rouge for a few days after switching servers and at 45..

Hell I'm in love with the game, but even I have my limits that I need to take a break from it. There is MORE than just crafting, and leveling. I play around in the company house, RP a bit, Play the Card game and laugh at sucking at it and when I'm uber bored I sing the chocobo theme. o-o

To sum it up, name a game that has EVERYTHING you are looking for in a game. Truth is there isn't.

They do a lot of communication this way for sure, but the communication from devs to playerbase seems to pale in comparison to other games I've played. Here, I find most hot topics are largely ignored, or if they do address them they give a sort-of 1-off answer. Whereas in WoW, Wildstar, Guild Wars 2 etc., the devs will actively discuss these topics with the players. I have a feeling a large part of it is due to the language difference / this being from a Japanese developer.

I still don't get the obsession with taking a break..

I do not need a break from my other hobbies, and I do not do them 24-7, nor do I do FFXIV 24-7...soo why should I have to "take a break" from something I barely play because there is nothing left for me to do and the content is boring and there is 0 FC content, little social interaction, no open world content for FC/groups STILL...3 years later..

It is mind boggling, this response. I work on my cosplay costumes about as much as I play XIV, I have never once said "OH I need to take a break from costumes for a few months!!" why would I? Making costumes doesn't get boring. I never "took a break" from XI as I said earlier either. I would play it as I pleased and never ever had a dull or boring moment.

XIV gets boring because the same meta being used since day one of 2.0. Tomes, tomes, lockouts..and more lockouts. The relic is always the same quest with a slight spin, its always use tomestones to get said random item. It...is...boring. Its like..imagine with my costuming hobby, making the same costume over and over and over..just slightly different size. Then yeah, that is when it becomes WORK and boring. With my costumes I make a different one each time and it is fun, or I can go back and forth and work on different ones at the same time. That is how I felt with XI.

There was so much to do in XI that when I stopped working on one thing I could work on something else. This game doesn't allow that because it all comes down to lock outs and tomes. So no, taking a break won't solve anything. Like I said..most people who take breaks from seeing it myself..they don't come back. And before the whole "go play ffxi if you like it so much" the XI I played is long gone..since 2010 at least. ~_~
