I agree: nobody has proof, I don't have either: my theory of how LFG tool and Gear score ruined the community are just that, theories. However since I was a hardcore player back then I did see things changing for the worse, yet I can't present real evidence that they ruined the community. Infact the only reason I mentioned wow is because, let's face it, it's the one game that most of us has played at least once: I could name other games too but they're either f2p or ruined games that became f2p.

But anyway, the same could be applied for parsers: we have no real evidence that it could ruin the community. but people are already saying that it does without showing any real evidence. Most of us are just showing our experience, but without actual proof of what it could become this is all meaningless. I mean I have parsers but I don't show off how my dps is uber and I don't go around calling out players: I only use it for measuring myself and nothing else. That already proves that parser doesn't automatically make me an elitist.

Infact what you said of how these numbers gates us is no different than what we currently have: the game IS gated behind item level, people only look for the highest item level possible, and for raiding is the same thing as you require to have done the raid before you can join the group - which makes sense but then how can new players even train? It's surprising how the two games are similar in this regard.

PS: And yes I can agree with you about the dps: currently I'm a BLM because my dps is very high and I'm only 220, but I usually top everyone (even in alex normal - I don't do savage). And that's because I know how to play it (and know that it works).
PPS: And yes, I don't call out bad players. Because it's not my job to babysit them.
