I want you to start screen-shotting people that harass anyone and report them. Guess what. You got them banned if it was actually harrassment, but 999/1000, no one is going to call someone out on low DPS because of a parser, under threat of harrasment. Constructive criticism is not harrasment. Asking someone to AOE instead of Single target is not toxic. It only becomes toxic when players say, "Don't tell me how to play."

Without a parser I can see who is doing poorly, but how does that help me become a better player?

The fear of a Toxic community? Toxicity = Aggressive, Belittling, Harassing. I don't get where you are getting the toxicity if no one is calling people out for poor dps... ?

Nowhere near as toxic. Right now my WHM has no idea my DRG isn't putting out as much damage as he could be. So the WHM isn't gonna hurt his delicate feelings by asking him why. And my DRG isn't gonna throw a fit. Anyone who thinks parsers aren't gonna cause fights need to go play WoW or league of legends and stop lying.

I mean technically if you had a parse log, you could see why. As long as you are clearing content, its fine. Does this help the DRG improve? Nope, but ignorance is power, as the saying goes!

I played WoW since almost release of Vanilla, I ran a lot of PuGs, and I raided competitively, and the amount of times I have seen people argue about numbers over the past decade of me playing was negligible, maybe twice if that across various servers and battlegroups. Shittalk happens more around PvP than PvE content in that game, and the thing that really made WoW's community suffer wasn't Recount/Skada, it was LFD.

People aren't as talkative in WoW when it comes to strangers, but there's almost zero propensity for people to mention DPS since it's either faceroll, or it's some moron on LFR (also faceroll) that everyone ignores or kicks out. Where DPS matters, you have guilds to run Mythic, or even heroic.

Much as people being in denial they have flaws and are way more toxic to community. Its like saying, why should Ps4 people even be part of a community where people just lie to themselves also bringing people down?
