I think this is a rather pointless request when you can simply repair your gear before you queue for a dungeon. It's really not difficult to quickly check. You are asking SE to do a lot of work for something very trivial and easily solvable.

As said multiple times, you can also already repair your gear inside a dungeon. If you don't want to level the crafter classes or carry the matter, that's nobody else's fault but your own.

The lore argument is also very true and your response isn't really a solution. This would mean SE would have to design an NPC to fit into every single dungeon. A traveller mender simply wouldn't fit into a lot of the dungeons lore wise.

It's difficult if you don't think about it. For example, you log out, go to work the next day, and come home and queue after a long day only to find out your gear is about to break upon entering while you gave it no thought because you had no conscious or subconscious urge to.

And a lot of work? Really? Tossing already existing code into already existing dungeons is a lot of work?

The lore argument is BS. We have a lot more crazy things going around in the game now. Flying turtles, FF13 characters, etc. Random generic traveling mender NPCs with guards sitting at the entrance would work just fine. Unless you can explain how exactly that violates the lore bible, while flying turtles and dimension traveling FF13 characters don't?

How is the Lightning lore surprising to you? The whole storyline is based on "lifestream" and "aether," is it really that surprising that a character managed to travel through that? Not to mention it was quite obviously a promotional event and had to somehow be linked with FFXIV. Flying turtles also have absolutely nothing to do with it unless you can find me a source of why this counteracts Eorzean lore.

Some dungeons are supposedly "abandoned" or "we're the only adventurers strong enough/brave enough to go into." Can you imagine a traveling merchant sitting at the entrance of Bahamut? It just doesn't work.

Ask the devs to bring back the feature to repair other players gear
    Problem solved without repair NPCs

Problem not solved because none of your party members had any of their crafts leveled.
Problem not solved because the player didn't bring Dark Matter because they usually use the NPC's in the field.

This is simply trying to add something to crafters and is trying to detract for the subject at hand.

Wait, my brain hurts from reading this mass of illogical nonsense. Apparently it's just too damned difficult for you to remember to repair your gear before logging out or upon logging back in because of...life. And yet you *utterly* dismiss the amount of work required just to implement backstories for all these NPCs you want showing up in the most dangerous places in the real with a gear repair kit in hand.

So, remembering a simple thing like "repair before log out, repair upon login" is apparently such a big thing that it justifies creating new NPCs, adjusting lore, creating unique backstories, and characters, and then creating their repair booth in each dungeon or Trial? Really? I mean...really?

Seriously, I just don't know what to say. It's simply ridiculous.

P.S. I wonder how these mythical menders resist tempering...

Repair before running anything, at one of the scores of menders available in the open world...problem solved.
