R2/M2 > Swiftcast > DWTi wonder if itll be worth casting a second fester inside dw trance now.. you can get one with mininal clipping by doing r2 (dwt td) r3 spam (swift) r3 (fester deathflare), but fitting another fester in there would require you to either use r2/miasma 2 (definitely not worth) or clip gcd (maybe??)
R3 > TriD > Fester
R3 x4
R2 > Fester > Deathflare
Gets 5 Ruin IIIs, Tri-Disaster, and 2 Festers.
I couldn't figure out a way to get 6 Ruin IIIs + TriD + Deathflare without stacking some serious spell speed.

I've been working on the "new" opener for 3.2, and this is what I've come up with. I've actually been using this for a while, but before the change it was roughly the same as most other openers. After 3.2, it will be significantly higher because it gets out 6 Ruin IIIs.
(Pre-cast) Shadowflare
(Pre-cast) Bio II
Miasma
Bio > Potion > Fester
Ruin III
Ruin II > Rouse > Spur
Ruin II > Enkindle > Raging Strikes
Ruin II > Painflare > Fester
Miasma II > Swiftcast > DWT
Ruin III > Tri-Disaster > Aetherflow
Ruin III x4 (Contagion)
Ruin II > Fester > Deathflare
Shadowflare
Here's the potency math behind this opener.
Here's a video demonstrating the opener.
Hello guys,
i'm not an expert for summoner, but i've been wondering about some questions that i hope you can answer for me:
1. Using tri-disaster during/at the end of DWT instead at the start, would it yield a better dps increase, since you wouldnt clip the dots that badly in the opener? (ignoring the partybuffs-timings)
2. Using two aetherflowstacks in the opener (fester+painflare because of selfbuffs+partybuffs) instead of only one.
3. Using enkindle during DWT or rouse/spur - does it make any significant difference?
4. If bio is used at the start, clip bio again instead of ruin II - dpsloss or gain?
1. You lose Litany TA etc and due to how Contagion works there's not that much point to worry about clipping.Hello guys,

2. Depends on opener, IDK.
3. DWT doesn't have anything to do with Enkindle.
4. Depends on opener. Sounds unlikely.
I imagine that getting six R3s under DWT will at minimum involve doing a triple oGCD going into it, i.e. SC->RS->DWT --> R3, because that would eliminate the small gap that can exist between the completion of the second oGCD and the refreshing of the next GCD. Also some quantity of spell speed, of course.
If a sixth R3 under each DWT is worth ~132 potency per minute, the added SpS required should be worth around-abouts 15 effective INT in current terms. Translated into stat weights, this means that aiming for a SpS 'cap' would become worthwhile so long as that cap is ~750 or lower. All very very much in theoryland, of course. Not sure if some part of that might misalign with realityland; I'm definitely a noobish SMN in practice.
How viable is Ifrit on Sephirot? With all the raid damage is it enough physical to make Radiant Shield useful?
I would just stick with Garuda. Contagion makes DoT upkeep during high movement portions trivial, can just mash Ruin II all day.
First phase it's a slight rDPS boost (same damage but no Radiant Shield if using Garuda), but you almost always have to move Ifrit while you can often leave Garuda somewhere safe. Final phase, see above; I don't even think the boss attacks to proc Radiant Shield in the first place.
I would literally LOVE to use Ifrit. But I just can't see the reason ever. If I map it out in my head, there are always a few places where it might make a small gain - A2S overgeared is an example because nothing lives long enough for Contagion to be of use. But when you compare the small gain you may get, with what you may lose from moving, extra TLC it needs...it's just not worth it. Even for a 100% stationary boss, I wouldn't use Ifrit. It's probably combined with the fact you get really good at using Garuda, learn fight timings with her etc. Ifrit changes all the timings...and again the payoff even if you perfected it is so small it's not worth going through the re-learning process. Dunno how they could buff Ifrit wihtout buffing SMN, but I'd be open to something cool.
