Im confused at some of the posts in this thread.

Why would anyone let any party member die? If you don't like how they play just kick them and get someone else lol.

Letting them die doesn't really teach them anything. 99% of the time they just think you suck as a healer >.<.

One legit time that I let people die (and it's more that I let them stay dead). If they repeatedly eat unnecessary damage and die in places like Void Ark, I will sometimes stop raising them - usually after 3-4 raises.

On that note, did 14 raises during tentacle boss the other day. Was a total of ~60 deaths in the raid. Minus 24 off for the wipe, that's still 36 deaths during the fight. Fun times!

Cuchy is really the boss were you have to carefully manage your mana because of some idiotic death that need raise...
Except for the pull... I usually can't DPS because there is'so much healing to do...

And one thing i enjoy the most...
Leaving a DPS die because he think that running at the opposite of me is cool to heal XP

So the DPS die, i step on his body... And maybe i slowly cast a raise... Without swiftcast ...
To show him that he is not my priority and that I will stop cast if I need to'save my life !

The lala jokes here aren't funny. And the taru jokes were funny because they were mostly about tarus up to evil schemes and whatnot(brought on due to the fact that a lot of taru story NPCs were villains - I mean it was THREE of them that destroyed Garliage Citadel) and not doing dirty little nasty things to them.

I do in fact believe the poster is telling the truth <_< and is just one more reason why I'm glad I'm a healer.

If some dmg decide to "help" tank by pulling more than the tank was going to, I wait to see if the tank will pick the stuff up and only then heal them. If the tank decides they can tank what they pulled, then I decide they can heal themselves as well.

And yes, I know there is sometimes accidental pulls, I have no trouble with that. This meant those dps that run forward to next or two groups and then run back to tank with train of monsters.

Yay, let another tank die on purpose at Fractal's final boss.

He had it coming though, didnt hold aggro , didnt provoke incoming patrol monsters, didnt interrupt mob casts, didnt communicate.. and didnt get out of aoes. When I asked if he spoke English/Jap/German/FR , he replied "I can speak final boss anyway who cares". Pissing douchebag.

DPS did their job perfectly and killed off final boss. We left after that and I didnt bother resurrecting him. Felt a little bad but pffft, do not piss us healers off :<

Because by the time you get fed up enough to let them die, it's already obvious their opinion of you is shit. You could save them, sure, but they'll still think you suck as a healer.
The point is not to teach them anything; the point is to make our own lives easier.

It's not common no. I've heard similar comments directed toward Miqo'te, but haven't really seen it in-game.

Don't worry, the lala hate is just a joke. You'll hear the worst things people plan to do to you, but none of it actually ever happens. Most Lalas learn to embrace it and thrive in their new role, the others switch races after a few days/weeks of constant verbal abuse <3

Confession:
Today I had a tank in Arboretum who did max pulls on everything and of course without tank stance, cooldowns or stunning hornets at the wall. It's not like this was the first time, I can do it without troubles with friends (although said friends of course do actually use cooldowns and stuns xD), but still, it tends to go south with randoms. But todaaay...I somehow timed all my abilities just right and got that party 100% safely to the end with good use of my stun light, essential dignity and so on °-°
Of course, did plenty of dmg too, and even the cards I drew were good AND put to good use.

I've been struggling with my AST in Savage lately, so that run really made me feel good about myself :x
And when we finished the dungeon, everyone congratulated the tank on his awesome tanking and left after giving him all the commendations.

And suddenly I wished I had just half-assed it and let them die a few times...>->
I understand saying nothing, but praising that god-awful tank for my work? What do I put effort in for anyway, then?

If the reason is to make your life easier you would kick them.

Letting someone die isn't making anything easier on you lol, it means less damage going out, boss lives for longer and therefore you do even more healing....Not seeing this easier life thing you speak of...
