Healer Confessions

For all the cruel,sneaky or just those fail moments that you pretend are not your fault this is the thread to confess your sins!

So I'll start with one from last night doing EXDR. Got Fractal run going fine. The part before the last boss where you are killing mobs on different platforms those trap things spawn that stun you as you stand in them. The Bard is caught in one so I esuna the stun and they run out of it then a second later run back in the same one and get stunned again.

Sulky WHM is not happy with this development so I opt to teach them a lesson and don't free them. Both turrets lock on their attacks to the Bard who meets their maker after taking two hits. I won't pretend it wasn't a little satisfying. But later I felt kind of guilty making them fall to a cheap death....Just a little guilty but it was funny watching them derp into the stun and die.

Dpsing as a whm in neverreap on a boss and you see the tanks HP, and know hes about to die, but you are casting stone 3, so u let him die and just SC res him.Ya im evil but that dps tho!

Yeah, I like to take matters into my hands, a bit too much, too.

There have been several instances where I'll run a High or Expert, see no new player bonus, and a DPS will do mechanics wrong, or die to needlessly easy mechanics. At first I try to be the good person and ask them if they understand the mechanic, or flat out tell them.

However, if they choose to ignore me, and I have to keep wasting my mana to cleanse, heal and rez them... I will start taking matters into my own hands. Letting them suffer, or flat out die in hopes that'll teach them the lesson. But.. there have been times that has backfired because either mechanics that don't necessarily happen to the healer start happening to me, or it causes the mob or boss to take longer and everyone starts running out of resources, etc. And once or twice I've caused flat out wipes because of it. >.o

I like to think I don't do that anymore, except for an all friends group where it's common place to joke around. But a player who is ignoring everyone's advice, and catches me in a bad mood...

Sometime, if the tank or the dps aren't trying to dodge aoe. I stop healing them. Magically, they start to dodge.
It's ok when they take unecessary damage while trying their best.

Does getting to "More than a Feeler" (the guildhest with the morbol that you need for a mainline quest) and forgetting Cure 2 is available due to having gone through most of the ones before it and not having it count? -.-

On the other hand, dps were doing bugger all with the bubbles, so it probably wouldn't have made a difference, but still ....

I am not actually a healer! I am a DPS while Selene does all the work for me!

I don't heal some people out of spite. If they say something mean to me or tell me that i suck / dont know what I'm doing.
I usually let them almost die before i start healing them again.
Dont like my heals then i won't heal you.
You can't expect a service while simultaneously degrading those who provide it for you.

I think it's maybe kind of a Healer thing in general to be "mwahaha I am god your lives are in my hands! I can save you or strike you down make your choice!" I've mained Healers in pretty much every MMO I've been in. In one game I played for a couple of years regularly I was pretty well known for being difficult and prone to sulking but I was one of the best PvP Healers so I always got static offers most of which I left within a week after being unsatisfied with them or getting into an argument. People would get me in a PuG and see my name like "yayy" then when things don't go so great I just lose all will and sit in the corner while the party gets mauled XD. My temper is a main reason why I just play games casually now I'm not suited to the job feel of statics or serious guilds I march to the beat of my own drum.

My healer confession ... A1S. Total brain fart.

Prey and tank buster already finished, all major crisis avoided, and now it's time for the final Gunnery Pod before the second jump. My tank is taking some damage so I start casting Cure, but stop casting because I need to cast Medica II for Gunnery Pod. Except then I cancel Medica II because it's too early.

So, now my tank is taking damage and the group just took a hit, and instead of using either Cure or Medica II, I just did nothing ... Because that seemed easier than making a decision to do either.

The group wiped. We LOL'd.

Aha, I understand.

I did some stupid things too. I'm used to medica II right in the center. Everything is fine,
juste one little aoe from the add in the middle. I don't know why, I jump in and cast Medica. GG wp, I'm Mini and my heal is ridiculously low and the party wipe.

@MXMoondoggie It's not really "I'm god and I decide who's worth to live or not" But more (for me) "I'm human, not a healer machine, I do my best, give me some respect and move your ass"
