I have met a blm before, he use only ice spells and when someone said to him "What are you doing ? Do you know how to play blm? " he said "oh sr i just try to be a ice mage", know what happened next ? We all laugh and clear that dungeon with him, ofc it took longer than usual and we got wiped twice at final boss cause ice damage is not enough to kill the bomb fast ( the 3rd time, the mch have to use lb to shoot down 2 bombs at the same time ). It's not what you wanna play, what your playstyle, it's your attitude. If in that moment when someone said "What are you doing ? Do you know how to play blm? " and he said back something like "Deal with it, this is my game, this is how i want to play" things have gone to a very different way.
Well I don't personally role play ice mage in dungeons o.0. I also generally try to push myself to the max of what I'm capable of with my current understanding of the classes I do play (and find it hilarious when doing so leads me to rip hate off tanks resulting in my death) but there are no rules saying someone has to (for sake of example) use Enochian in a Duty Finder Group, or that they can't play as an ice mage. Party Finder groups and other private groups often do have set rules for a person to join.

This is probably not the best analogy but I personally like to think of the Duty Finder as a public toilet in that sure you would like for it to be the way you want it to every time you go in but inevitably you are going to come across one were someone has done something or is in the process of doing something you very strongly disapprove of. Is there a solution? Sure! Don't use public toilets. Can you complain about it? Absolutely! But in the end it's up to management (Square Enix) to decide to do anything about it or not. You certainty don't have the right to tell that person what they can and can't do in the toilet, the owners of the toilet get to make that call, and have yet to make such rules regarding the use of their toilet.

mentalities like this are the reason why the DF has many of its problems. "Who cares ?" "Nothing forbids me to do that" and whatnot.

Well, no. DF is a group work where you don't cherry pick your co-workers. Think of it like a group work in school with the teachers making the groups. You may end up with under-performing mates, but everyone should aim to do the best they can and you have the right to expect them to do the best they can.

And if they aren't even trying, hell sure you have the right to scold them for that. Slackers aren't tolerared irl, why should they be tolerated in a group content in a MMO ?

It may be in a game, but the 101 of human relations and group work are still the same
