Gonna re-quote myself then :
a "bad" DRG for me is a i190+ DRG pulling less than 800 dps. Because I can do more without buffs and with the 2.0 rotation which does less dps than the 3.0 rotation.Just as an example : I do 750-800 dps as a i190 DRG (full proto-gordian + ravana) without using any buff and no Blood of the Dragon. I consider that better geared DRGs who do less are not knowledgeable or downright not trying. Does that make me an elitist, while I'm just asking for the bare minimum of the job (i.e., using its base rotation. It's even the 2.0 rotation here for those who might not be comfortable with BOTD) ?
I'll give some piece of advice to those trying, but I won't happily hold the hand of the "carry me I won't bother" crowd

Comparing yourself to the bottom of the barrel does absolutely nothing, and this is another example of why measuring your DPS by your enmity is largely inaccurate. Enmity-reducing abilities aside, you can be second highest enmity at 700 dps because everyone else is still pulling 500. That still makes you bad.
lol
Your new level 50-60 skills aren't "optional". You're not considered "good" by doing the very least that is required of you. The person that quoted you earlier (dark494) is completely correct.
1. Fair point, though even in that case I would still be carrying them and according to the people in this thread I would have every right to complain.
2. Subjective personal opinion. There isn't a mechanic that makes me die if I don't use the level 52-60 skills or any rules saying I have to, nor indeed do they have to be used to put out decent dps and clear level 60 dungeons. They are optional.
There is absolutely no world where you spamming Chaos Thrust as a LANCER and being 6th on an enmity list is carrying anyone, and the fact that you keep pushing this argument leads me to believe that you are either a troll, or highly deluded. I'm fairly sure that we are both aware that you purposely botching your rotation while knowing better gives you absolutely no right to complain. Stop playing dumb.
There isn't also a mechanic in a dungeon that makes me play DRK correctly and I can drop Darkside all the time, stay in Grit, and spam my most ineffective combo, Power Slash. I don't do it because I respect the time of the people running with me and I try to help out my group as much as I can. Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should, and I really don't understand why that is such a strange concept to grasp for someone that honestly knows better.

Are...are you actually serious? Are you seriously saying that the new skills you get in Heavensward are optional? Are you actually trolling or being serious?
This isn't an excuse for not doing your 60 rotation... If you do that DPS using the 50 rotation you'd do more with the 60 rotation. Choosing to do less DPS because you dont want to do the 60 rotation is downright rude.

Well...there is one small hole in this argument. Were the others in your party using enmity reduction moves? Seeing where you are on the hate list isn't a very good comparison for DPS for this reason. You need solid numbers.Oh of this I am well aware. Ironically I still out dps most people in my groups when not bothering with BoD. Hell as an experiment one time I went into Void Ark as a Lancer and used nothing but Chaos Thrust on the last boss and I was still staying at about 6-5th place on the enmity list for my party. Our level 50 rotations are still viable means of good dps. Our level 60 rotations let us do more obviously. It's what each person considers "good" I guess.
You, and everyone else who thinks like you, is what is wrong with this community. It is thoroughly embarrassing that you would even suggest this, that you'd even think of defending the kind of attitude your blm had instead of sticking up for the ones who are trying to help players improve. There is no excuse for anyone, at anytime, anywhere, to conciously hold back the rest of the group and be nothing but a hinderance. Nobody gets a free pass ever to be deadweight. You pull your own weight or you get left behind. It's downright rude and arrogant to your fellow players to suggest they have to carry you and do all your work for you.
It's an mmo, you want to act like a loser you go do it by yourself. The minute you step into anything with other players you are beholden to them to give only your best and earnest efforts, or you are wasting everyone's time and efforts by showing how vain you are.
There was no intimation that the other DPS was either "consciously holding back the rest of the group" or "be[ing] nothing but a hinderance".
Those may be your own views. You are entitled to them.
You aren't entitled to force me to believe them.
What a pitiful world this would be if we treated real living people outside of a game with the attitude you apparently have toward real living people inside of a game.
You apparently read something in the "kind of attitude your blm had" that I could not. Thankfully.

The Elitism is real #badword

Can we all just get along?

No, it's mostly important that we segregate into two camps, and bash the other side as much as possible. Elitists and scrubs. It's a good thing that SE has done such a fine job implementing tools and terms of service which encourage us to be respectful.
