I can't even say I'm in it for the custom stats (as I can only dread what that might entail this time). I'm only doing it BECAUSE I skipped the original, thus have to start from square one here.

To be honest, I don't like the way the Armageddon looks at all, and I'm all but completely decided on skipping any and all future relics for the rest of however long I play this game.

It is entirely optional. I would only suggest doing it if you are someone who has to have the absolute BiS gear, assuming the new anima weapons let you customize stats in the future. MCH wise, the gun is inferior to Heavensfire from Thordan, which is much easier to obtain. The grind for these quests are so tedious and not fun and I can't recommend it to anyone unless they need that BiS.

Even for BiS, secondary stats end up being so miniscule that imo, I can't necessary justify the grind beyond doing it from daily tasks. The other option is for glamour, but Armageddon looks...bleh.
