Okay i'm just going to say this once I never said that and you're missing my point in my own statics of pushing and improving yourself which MOST of the playerbase don't do. I have seen ilvl 185 mchs beat an ilvl 196 drg because he didn't know his rotation, you can't judge someone based on a pug. I think you're the one being elitist calling people egotistical when I never said any of this or attributed from my own posts.
If you want to think that i'm elitist go ahead i'm not gonna lose sleep but putting down melding and not doing it is bad it's customization and it's there because the masses wanted it. I for one am going to use it, i'm gonna advocate it however i'm not going to be a jerk about it, it's either you have it or you don't. Prices will drop, people will meld or have someone meld for them it's not hard, it's not time consuming it's part of the game that will make you a better player. It'll help you be a better dps, a better healer, a better tank (individual skill is obviously the first) but i'm not making any judgement calls and neither should you. No one knows what's going to happen with these melds, with the class changes, game changes, raids, mechanics, hell I don't even know it's in the future.
I'll stick with melds and people melding because it's going to be apart of raiding and statics whether you choose to ignore it or not. Better gear doesn't win at the end of the day skill does and we can't even advocate parsers or tell the person "you should try this" because no one wants to be called a noob or bad. And honestly i'm a pretty patient person who when doing clears will sit down and talk to the people doing the clears and walk them through it I don't flame them or call them bad.
TLDR; I don't base people on gear if it's a PUG and there's someone who's melded i'll take em if there's someone who's not i'll take em it doesn't really matter to me. It's statics and the people I play with that I want optimized and tuned to their maximum potential because we have to communicate.
