Can we get an Official clarification on housing Demolish timer (45 or 90?)

I haven't met a single house owner that has gone and said "Oh boy, I sure love never being able to leave the game" or "If I dont play for 45 days then I guess someone can do better with my 2 year investment". Most everyone who says "45 is enough" don't own a house. Even the ones in this thread that said they owned one only have a FC house.

Remember that after all, only about 1.8% of the population has a chance at having a Personal house. And this is a number that will not change even if they start kicking owners at 5 days of not entering the house. The only thing that having a shorter grace period accomplishes is pissing off house owners; it doesn't actually add any more houses.

You're mixing up FC housing and personal housing. For FC houses if NOBODY uses the house for 45 days I can agree the FC is dead and the house should be relinquished for others to use. It's a different case when a single person can't take a break from it.

Well that is your fault for not taking the time to enter your house for 2 seconds and then continuing whatever you doing since you already on the game.

Is it really yours, or a FC's? Because I hardly believe anyone who payed for a Medium with his own Gil and properly decorated it would say such a thing.

And again, nothing else will happen if given a longer grace period. Those who abandoned the game long ago will still get their house evicted eventually. 45 days may be "Enough", but so are 90. Nothing changes, except it gives us more freedom. Non-house owners are still screwed regardless, because again, this system doesn't add any houses.

Oh it's mine. I spent 2 months farming Ehcati Sealant to buy it. But I realize that I quit playing the game and want someone who is actively playing to enjoy a feature I no longer use.

Yeah I think 45 days is too short. At least 90 days IMO, and id stick it closer to 6 months if it were up to me. Stuff happens. Not to mention how its perfectly normal and understandable for players to consume all the content, unsub, play something else for a few months and come back to another content patch or 2.

They really need to just redo the entire housing feature. This limited space/neighborhood thing is ridiculous, impractical, and short sighted.

Why should SE cater to people who abandon the game on a whim? Who don't pay their subs? While there are people who are actively playing and also want to utilize these limited resources?

If you are not entering the house, then you are not using it, if you are not using it, there is no reason for you to have it while denying it to someone who would be using it.

Also once again, I DO NOT want a personal house, never would, so no, I am not someone looking for scraps, I don't care. It just baffles me how you people can defend the hogging of rare resources despite not utilizing them for a long period of time (yes, 45 days IS a long period of time).

I own a small personal house. For me, 45 days is reasonable. (90 days would have been better.) If I can't log in for 45 days or get someone I know to log into my account for 45 days, it means I'm probably comatose or my actual real life house was destroyed in a tornado and I lost my security token and SE hasn't answered my desperate pleas yet.

How on earth can you make that assumption? A lot of people own a PERSONAL house and think 45 days is enough. Now you're just making ridiculous assumptions to try and further your argument.

Because its something they took a long time earning and collecting for it? Its easy not to give a @#*% when its not you losing anything. That is unless you resub to a game that is currently offering nothing new to entertain. And its not on a whim, its because they get bored or things come up. Who are you to judge anyone on whats "on a whim" or something reasonable? Because there are likely many many more players who have left the game for good and/or are way over 3-6 months already than there are those who are taking a break. Because at the end of the day, once the initial batch of houses are reclaimed (which likely wont be long), the rate at which more houses open up will be exactly the same (dependent mostly on rate of people unsubbing), so theyre basically screwing people over for unsubbing for reasonable times, just to get some extra lots in the beginning. This game gets new content every what? 3 months or so? Thats at least 90 days.

Most importantly though, its because this is a half-assed band-aid fix. If demand is really as high as they say (or it was the day it was patched), they will all be bought out again within days or sooner, fixing nothing, because theyre too lazy to come up with a housing feature, for everyone, and screws over no one.
