    In a interview a while back Yoshi-p discussed the reason behind the cast bar was to prevent BRD and MCH from having both High Mobility and High Damage at the same time. It was the exchange for higher damage being MCH and BRD mobility but of course people are not happy about it for different reasons but mostly for losing their high mobility while some were just mad they can't have both high mobility and high damage.

    Players have ask for higher damage for BRD but they never ask the question "What will be the price for that higher damage?"

    Any changes of that magnitude to BRD or MCH aren't going to be happening without a lot of reworking. They made WM and Gauss Barrel a core mechanic of the 50+ playstyle of the two classes. It would take months at the very least to restructure the classes to have them balanced without the cast bars. There is no way in hell they would have them done for 3.1. Hell, removing the cast time component of those skills would effectively make the abilities non existent meaning they would need to come out with a completely new skill to replace it and have it be a skill that had value but wasn't unbalanced.

    I know a lot of BRDs and MCH were unhappy with this but I honestly think the best you can hope for is a change to be done in 4.0. It seems extremely unlikely unless no one plays the classes at all for the change to be made before then. Certainly provide feedback cause they might change it in the long run, but don't expect anything soon.

    I havn't played either class but arn't the new skills revolved around this change? If they remove that what would you purpose they do to avoid over hauling all the skills (and possibly story)? Always "heavy" effect to offset it perhaps?

    Cool, so what's the issue of reducing mobility if it wasn't even important? And even then, they didn't remove mobility. If they did, then you would have 2.5-3 seconds cast times, like real casters.

    I agree no raid or dungeon i was in as a brd was I invincible b/c I was mobile- i moved when necessary justl ike everyone else.

    There is no issue with limiting movement, but it debunks the reasoning (or at least makes a really terrible one) to base potential dps due to movement in this circumstance.. I didn't move that much in 2.0 as a bard, and i certainly dont move as much as a MCH in 3.0. But again the problem the effect that cast times has on bard's toolkit and traits. You got straighter shot procs that won't even register in time when cast times are considered and that you can't effectively weave two oGCDs inbetween each GCD when you have a 1.5 cast time.

    I play bard in savage and WM is awesome, just make straighter shot procs snappier and I'd be in heaven. Oh and make warden's paean not suck.
