    Those games you listed have more competition with each other than they do with FFXIV. Also companies do not plan every game release around other game releases; all those games are releasing at the same time because it's the holiday season. Surely if they were worried about competing with each other they would all be releasing at different times.

    What I'm trying to say is those who play both FO4 and FFXIV will play one or the other unless they have an ungodly amount of time available, and the majority of those people aren't going to keep paying a subscription if they're not logging on. Of course we'll never know either way since SE is so reluctant to release subscription numbers, but it's been known to happen with WoW and AAA releases (not just MMOs, MMOs don't drop every other day).

    All of the games I listed are guaranteed to sell over 3+ million copies based off their brands alone, regardless of competition. FFXIV doesn't have that luxury, I think they're going to time the release of 3.1 just before the release of FO4 to keep people reeled in with their weekly lockout system.
