They should just release what the have now. If void ark gear is only 200 then it's useless, might as well push that out now while some people still don't have esoteric.
It will be more useful for a short time than wait and be useless when it does come out in november.
Those games you listed have more competition with each other than they do with FFXIV. Also companies do not plan every game release around other game releases; all those games are releasing at the same time because it's the holiday season. Surely if they were worried about competing with each other they would all be releasing at different times.
What I'm trying to say is those who play both FO4 and FFXIV will play one or the other unless they have an ungodly amount of time available, and the majority of those people aren't going to keep paying a subscription if they're not logging on. Of course we'll never know either way since SE is so reluctant to release subscription numbers, but it's been known to happen with WoW and AAA releases (not just MMOs, MMOs don't drop every other day).
All of the games I listed are guaranteed to sell over 3+ million copies based off their brands alone, regardless of competition. FFXIV doesn't have that luxury, I think they're going to time the release of 3.1 just before the release of FO4 to keep people reeled in with their weekly lockout system. Those games you listed have more competition with each other than they do with FFXIV. *Laughs at those "players" saying -game gets boring-*
Thats what you get if you rush everything and want everything in only 1-2days!!! D: <
I could still shake my head, till it breaks from my neck, about those already ilvl180 players I saw on JUST 2nd day after HW got released! =.=
I always see this stuff about Bethesda games but never experience their "unplayable" state, maybe I'm just incredibly lucky? As for the rest, anyone "invested" into the gaming medium knows how much shit sells, as long as it's by the right publisher and having the large name of Star Wars attached will only help that. Battlefield 4 has sold over 7 million copies to date and that's the numbers from over a year ago, that game was a horrendous pile shite on release. There will always be that vocal minority that scream the franchise's death, but they always go on. I'm sure we're all familiar with that. The thing is though, most MMO players don't care enough to post about their dislike with how things are going, and just unsubscribe.Perhaps that's exactly how SE justified it; "Fallout 4 is a Bethesda game, it'll be buggy as hell and nigh-on unplayable for a month or two!". Star Wars Battlefront has been chewed up by EA and is a crippled shade of its former self at this point, Battlefield fans may like it, but fans of the original Battlefronts are already disappointed... Can't talk about Tomb Raider or Halo 5 (which has the unwinnable (IMO) battle of being a Xbone exclusive and turning around Halo 4s utter meh-ity), because my interest in them was never there to begin with.
I'll still be playing the crap out of Fallout 4 though, but... Is that going to be an issue? I'm currently playing the crap out of New Vegas in sweet sweet anticipation... It's not getting in the way of Esoterics/Scrips, so I can't see 4 doing so either. I am going to have to wait a while for Fallout 4s many bugs to be fixed, so I'm likely to be stopping by the Gold Saucer for some Lord of Verminion when I hit my 6th crash to desktop within 10 minutes of playing 4...
If they're enjoying Fallout 4 and then the chore of doing the scrips or capping Eso is on the back of their head why would they stop playing FO4 in the possibly little time they have to do those things? Unfortunately I paid in advance until December as I thought the patch was going to be out mid-September, but that was my mistake. The way I see it is "Should I continue subscribing this game and play it alongside these other games?" or "Should I take a break for 1-2 months and return to a heap of a content with only 1-2 months left to go until I get more?", but as I said, we'll never know as SE doesn't release sub numbers.
a bit off-topic, but I think playing brand new bethesda releases is a bit like gambling. you may come by with some glitches and small bugs, but there's always some people who get their saves destroyed from major game breaking bugs which are often even part of the main story.I always see this stuff about Bethesda games but never experience their "unplayable" state, maybe I'm just incredibly lucky? also, how much damage a brand has received usually only shows on its successor. battlefield hardline didnt do so hot as far as i know.
personally, i currently really dont know what to do. I quit raiding because having a fit schedule just didnt go over well with me anymore. my old static also exploded shortly after (they still play, just dont raid anymore). we were pretty "casual", clearing content late, but the people were fun and we made some slow but steady progress till savage.
capping eso and scribs is also getting old _really_ fast after youve been on the cap wheel for 2 years+. the new areas are great, but everything else is exactly like weve come to expect to. i usually subscribe for 6 months at a time, but i really need to think twice again this time. last time that happened with 2.3 which also didnt bring much worthwhile to the table.
Everyone deserves a vacation yes but aren't they usually planned with other things in mind?

Ima take a vacation too, from this game.
They could easily hire more people, so they can take deserved breaks. With all the players they claim to have they could take the money and invest it in more developers. I am not doing this again. Waited for hw delay which was not worth the delay imho due to nothing to do but 2.0 again, I am not waiting again.

I had a longer speech prepared for how bad I think this single thread has become over the mere night, but I think I'll just simply do the following:
*Facepalm*
Maybe taking a break from this forum isn't such a bad idea after all... This entire thread alone is just sad.
