Give us Dervy back! He was the only reason I kept playing through 2.5 and I owe him my reputation on my server.

aight having too much skillspeed isn't as detrimental in raid environment as dummy since I don't think there's any fight where you're using optimum 3 laser/min timings
i got 711 skillspeed on my current set and I don't notice my self losing lasers due to skillspeed since we're inherently delaying them for mechanics

i don't really hit anything from the front that much in a4s so I might just stick with the 639 set but I'll probably go for the high crit low det set first as I prefer more skillspeed as a buffer for things and 650 sounds more legit to me than 604.
I've been a bit too busy raiding to properly theorycraft Geirskogul--or compose proper responses to the last day or so's worth of posts, but this reflects my raiding experience too. You rarely get to babysit your BotD timer perfectly. If you can do it, consider it a bonus (or make-up damage for flubbing something...). Forget trying to fit two in a Blood for Blood... I just settle for holding that Hyper Viper Beam until after IR.
For the curious, my model currently counts Geirskogul as just plain 3 per minute with no particular buff timings in mind. It's a source of error for sure, but I'm loath to add yet another confounding factor into it at the moment.
Hey would you be able to post these gear sets on the OP? That way when/if my group ever gets to A4 it'll be there for quick reference and I don't have to go digging through the pages![]()
I'm thinking the same thing as you Yan. Like the exact same as you lolaight having too much skillspeed isn't as detrimental in raid environment as dummy since I don't think there's any fight where you're using optimum 3 laser/min timings

Thing is, I mained pld pre hw and have the pld relic... don't have the drg relic. So I really hope that the next relic will be easy in terms of grinding (not like the dungeon drops from arr, took me 53 sas hm runs lol)I doubt there will be a new Materia-based Relic Quest, since what i assume is that those who did the previous Relic Quest will be able to transfer its Stats over to the new one, to make it not worthless after all the Grind.
I'd personally save up my Gil and whatever Materia i still have laying around for the Patch to hit and then think about wherever to purchase or not, even if the price might be higher than before the Patch.
The final choice is up to you though, i just hope we will be able to transfer the stats of our previous Relic to the new one, otherwise i'll be mad about the useless grind i did back then for the Relic.
I actually won't mind doing dungeons run for key items. It gives reason to revisit older once. The only thing I didn't really care for where the books.
There's absolutely no way that the benefit for your new relic will be based on having the old relic for that class. Longinus Zeta won't be required to get a bonus for the DRG relic. ANY Zeta will be. How can I be so sure about this? SE is dumb, yeah, but they're not dumb enough to say that the new jobs aren't allowed to get whatever bonus comes with having a Zeta as far as relic progression goes. It's more than likely just gonna require that you got the Z title, regardless what Job you got it for. If you have Excalibur Zeta, you'll get a headstart on the relics in 3.1. Maybe just on your first relic? Who knows. But it won't be tied to jobs, I'm about 90% sure.
Now watch me be wrong. D:
Without getting too much off-topic.. I could see the opposite of what you're saying come true. I mean, considering there was no relic grind for the new jobs prior, there might not be a boost for their relics. Who knows, though. There's absolutely no way that the benefit for your new relic will be based on having the old relic for that class. Longinus Zeta won't be required to get a bonus for the DRG relic.
