The issues you have with people requesting square make housing more accessible(by simply adding more houses, at that!) seems to stem from irl issues and you need to not bring that here.
Working for a house in this game is simply earning the gil. Housing isn't cheap. And there should be enough housing for all players to buy one when they can afford it; no one should have to harass random people to try and buy their house off of them. Get real. Not to mention, people who typically sell their house in the pf sell it for the price they bought it, and people have to "double buy" the house. It's ridiculous. Everyone puts in the same amount of work to get housing in this game. No one /has/ to give it up just because someone else wants it. This issue falls on SE, not the players who are left out of housing.

Essentially, yeah, it comes down to money. Housing is cheap though, 10 million gil is like 3 days of soulbinding/crafting.

The server can access it in theory, considering that one FC can hold about 500 players.
Regarding realistic scenarios, I have seen 4 house sales on PF in two weeks, and I check PF once a day.
Have you tried to buy a house through daily PF ads?
Have you tried shouting in Ishgard?
Have you tried searching for empty houses and talking to their owners?

LOL. Because having to spend millions to a player - IF they're willing to relinquish the plot - only to then have to pay the full original sum for the lot is totally a legitimate way for everyone on the server to own a house.

Your solution is essentially to kowtow to a group of strangers and hope they deign to allow you to benefit from their house (which in the case of gardens, you likely won't).

Joining a FC with housing lets you do everything and more compared to having a personal house.

If you think gardening is something fun you would like to try, you have no idea what goes into it.

• You don't have the time or patience to save up the gil to buy a house off someone? You'll hate gardening.
• You don't have the gil to buy a house off someone? You can't afford gardening.
• You think you can make money gardening? You clearly haven't checked the MB for gardening things since HW came out.

Accessibility does not mean ease. Much like how raids take a considerable amount of time or effort to complete even though anyone can step into them as long as the basic prereqs are met. If houses were unlimited in number but cost 100+ million gil to purchase they would fall under the definition of accessibility which the current housing system does not.

You also seem to fail to grasp the fact that the majority of complaints about housing have little to do with the actual costs of housing and its mechanics. The only time costs factors into the complaints is as it relates to scumbag players abusing a broken system for their personal benefit.

But players shouldn't have to rely on buying a house from someone? I'm not sure why people aren't grasping that. The server economies vary greatly. Where I could buy a mansion on Zalera for 21 million gil, that's the price of a small house on mega servers. A small on Coeurl was 18 million when I was there. So it varies. But this wasn't meant to be an exclusive part of the game. This isn't some prize to dangle in front of casuals going "lol git gud or give up". This is something that is purely cosmetic and has little to no benefit otherwise. Even the in house crafting stations do very little to benefit the players. So there is no reason to pretend that only a certain group "deserves" player housing. That is not the case. Making gil isn't always easy on some servers. And while I could afford a personal house and get my fc a house, there are still no plots available for any players to even hope to start enjoying it.
