Lol, casual and end-game in the same phrase? Not sure EX primals should be considered casual in any way prior to being nerfed.in any of the 'casual' end-game right now (everything but savage) a couple dps pulling 400-500 will cost your group the clear every single time, regardless of how well they handle mechanics... unless your other two dps pick up the slack and put out 1200+
again, not that I'm a fan of this type of encounter design... but every single bismark ex/ravana ex clear party in pf? they benefit from having at least one person running a parser just to identify and replace the weak links
I just wanted to reiterate this wisdom in this thread... carry on. \o/
Also, I would be in support of a self-only parser.A personal in-game DPS meter that shows you and you alone how you're doing (and not anyone else) is the best we can ever hope to receive *because it doesn't open up anyone to abuse*. Again, we do not need to see what the DPS of anyone else is.. not because there aren't legitimate reasons for it, but because players can not be trusted to be mature with that information.

You know the best people can both deal great dps and pull the mechanics correctly? One of the things making that possible is a proper parser to keep up with your progress.
During the adds, it's important not to get 4 stacks of the debuff, because it makes you explode. If every dps player picks up an add, it's fine. But if you kill your add quickly and see someone struggling with theirs, you can either go help him finish it directly, or then use a few ranged attacks if you're worried about those debuff stacks. The reason why the adds are being spread is that they do pbaoe that puts a stack of the said debuff on anyone it hits.
That will cause A LOT more harm than good Im afraid.Yoshida just needs to step up his game and exclude any third party software usage outside the game. As a PS4 player, I would have loved to have a Parser program to see how much dps I pull on a job specific class. Not only will I actually hit the dummy more often, but I will also learn how to maximize my dps to the full extend. I don't care about other people's dps, so basically I don't need to ''see'' their numbers. So Naoki Yoshida, if you actually CARE about your fans, please do the right thing and give us the option of a Parse program.
Sadly nearly every other MMO in existence would disagree with this statement (WoW being one such) as this is one of the few games on the market that doesn't actually allow them to be used.
The only reason it "might" cause an issue at this point would be due to the rather large awakening, and subsequent backlash it might cause amongst the players against such features, but that too would eventually pass.
In the end it would actually help more than anything if the majority of endgame is going to continue to be designed with strict DPS checks in mind, nothing bad can come from educating your playerbase.
As much as I would love to agree with you. I'm afraid most of the people in this community would just simply use it to abuse other players. Oh wait, that is already happening here.Sadly nearly every other MMO in existence would disagree with this statement (WoW being one such) as this is one of the few games on the market that doesn't actually allow them to be used.

I can put the word 'most' in front of things too as if I have accurate statistics of the entire communities attitudes, based off of a couple people from group content, spread out days apart from one another, being douchebags.
Oh, and something or another about a parser they had been using at the time using it's parser mind control effect and turning you're every day nice person into a douchebag. Cause the FFXIV community without parsers is all sunshine and daisies, ya know?
I don't mind you using parse, but heavy a little bit o sense.
Learning party on Ravana, one of the dragoons was new, first time on the boss, the poor guy died for same mechanics, it's learning and it's hard to get the time for mechanic just reading or seing a video, other DPS using parse said: "You DPS is to low, the WAR Have more DPS then you".
We restarted, and that time maybe by luck, we get till final liberation, died to Mechanics, the "Dive bombs", the same guy said for me, the healer, "Your DPS is to low you are doing half of the SCH dps", the SCH , a friend mine asked him to look on my EncHPS, that was 3x the encHPS from him. My Sch Friend was just Doing DPS and not healing because he have trust on me, Also the guy whit the parse always had the biggest vunerability stack.
Every tool is neither good nor bad itself. A tool in good hands can be used to accomplish extraordinary things. A tool in the wrong hands (Such as ignorant ones or malevolent ones) brings about abuse. Parsers are one such tool. A parser is both used for good and bad. It all depends on the user. Sadly, players such as Rashammel had an experience with an ignorant user. It happens. That shouldn't have us be too fearful to use such a useful construct.
I'm pretty sure OP and their opening post has far more capacity to make people stupid than a parser ever will.
